"Hey, baby?" I hear Harry call from the living room. I take the towel with me, and I continue to dry my hair as I walk from the bathroom to the living room.

"What is it, Harold?" I reply jokingly.

He is reclined on the couch with the news on. He glances up when I walk in. Harry sits up and pulls his legs off the couch. I sit down next to him. Harry slips the ring off of his finger.

"I wanted to talk to you about the inscription on the ring," Harry mumbles with red cheeks. "I like it, but you never showed me yours."

I feel a rush of nervousness. What if he finds the inscriptions even more stupid when he sees the one on my ring?

"Can I put the ring on?" I ask him. "I wasn't sure if we both wanted to wear ours now or-"

"Go get it, love. I want to see yours too."

I lean over and kiss Harry before I get up and walk to our bedroom. The ring is in the same exact box that Harry's was in. I pull it out of my underwear drawer before I walk back to the couch. I sit down and shyly hand the box to Harry.

Harry hands me his ring to hold, and I read the inscription on the inside of his ring.

For your eyes only

"I'll show you my heart," Harry finishes the line as he reads the inside of my ring.

"I thought the inscription on the inside because it's just for your eyes only," I try to explain to him, but my nervous words sound jumbled. "Because I love you in a way that made it so that I didn't think that our love involved anyone else. It's just you and I. So I thought that these rings could symbolize us."

Harry holds my ring in his hand. He looks up at me before he carefully takes my left hand in his. He slides the ring onto my ring finger. While it's not necessarily engagement rings anymore, neither of us care. Some traditions matter to us, but neither of us wearing rings to symbolize the promise we will make in the upcoming months is not something that either of us cares about. We silently decide to both wear our rings as I slip Harry's onto his finger also.

"This is us."

I turn down the volume of the TV when I look over and see my phone ringing. Harry is laying across the couch with his head in my lap. His hair is pulled back in two Dutch braids, the type that my sisters taught me. I hear him faintly snoring as I answer.

"Louis?"

"Hey, Z. How is everything?" I ask. I pay little attention to the House Hunters show on the television as I check to make sure that my best friend is okay. While he and Liam did forgive each other, a problem is still something that needs a solution.
