Chapter Three

Perrie's POV

I don't know what's wrong with Zoey, here lately she's been so upset, rude, and disrespectful. And she doesn't like Alex, I don't know why though. I mean at first he didn't want me to adopt, but I told him I really wanted to. He later agreed, but he wouldn't sign the papers, Jade had to since you have to have two signatures.

A couple days ago Zoey got herself into some trouble with Jade after she wrote on the walls and hit me. Jade may look all innocent, but that Disney loving fool can be very feisty. Let's just say Zoey was not having the best day.

Right now Zoey and I are at Jade's house. Jade and Zoey are in the living room watching Aladdin while I'm marking dinner. There's a knock on the door seems as though Jade in too interested in the movie, I go open the door. I see Jed standing there, I roll my eyes and let him in. I have nothing against Jed he's a sweet guy, we're actually friends, but I just think he's too close with Jade. I mean..I don't know it's just something about him. "Hey there Perrie. How's it going?" He takes his jacket off hanging it on the rack. "Oh nothing Jed, what brings you here?" I ask as I really want him to leave. "Just decided to swing by maybe see Jade. Zoey here?" Jed's a nice person and he's really good to Zoey and that I'm grateful for as they see each other often. "Yeah she in there watching Aladdin with Jade. Would you like me to make you something to eat I'm making dinner?" I ask secretly hoping he'll leave. "No that's okay thank you though, I won't be staying long I've got to get back to the boys." Thank god! "Alright then" I walk back to the kitchen to finish.

Jade's POV

"Jade, Zoey!" I hear a familiar voice call out. "Uncle Jed!" I see Zoey jump up and run into his arms. I laugh and stand up to greet Jed. "Jed, what brings you here?" "Just came over to say hi see how you're doing." I chuckle and ask if he wants anything to drink or eat he says no. "Alrighty guys just wanted to come check up on yous' I've gotta go now, be good Zo" he says giving us one last hug. "Uncle Jed why are you leaving?" Zo whines "I'm sorry petal I've got some work to do" he kisses her forehead and walks out.

After dinner we all watch some more movies. Zoey is on my lap as Pez is sitting beside me with her head on my shoulder. It's now 9:30 and Perrie is asleep. I glance at Zo who is still wide awake watching the movie. "Come on Belle time for bed." I tell her standing up carefully placing Pez in a more comfortable position. "Auntie Jade, why do you call me Belle?" She asks "well it's because you remind me of princess Belle, come on time for bed" I hold my hand out for her to take. "I'm not sleepy though" she argues "well, you need some rest or you get real grouchy" I pick her seeing she is not going to follow me. "But I don't want to!" She yells, I smack her bum once "I didn't ask if you wanted to now did I? I told you and you are going to listen to me. Your mother is sleeping and you need to be quiet and go to sleep." I tell her giving her a stern glare. She says sorry and puts her head in the crook of my neck. "It's alright Belle just listen would you please" she nods. After I put her to bed I go down to the living room to get Perrie. I carry her up to her room as she stays over often. I place her on the bed and kiss her forehead, I turn to go out and she grabs my wrist. "Jadey please stay" she whines. "Of course" I climb under the covers and she lays her head on my chest I wrap my arm around her waist. "Goodnight Jadey, I love you." "I love you too Pez, go to sleep now"

I wake up to screams, I guess Pez heard it to as she jumps up as well. "ZOEY!" She yells running out of the bedroom. I quickly follow. I went to Zoey's room to find Perrie trying to get Zoey but failing as Zo was running around crying. "She's sleep walking Pez!" Perrie just looks at me trying to figure out if I know what to do. I shrug and walk towards Zo. "Zoey baby it's Auntie Jade and Mommy, we aren't going to hurt you." I say very calm, I'm actually surprised it came out so calm as right now I'm freaking out. "He's going to hurt me!" Zo yells. I see Perrie fall to her knees crying "baby no one is going to hurt you, I won't let them!" Perrie says while trying to comfort her daughter. "Belle listen to me, listen to my voice. It's Auntie Jade. I'm not going to hurt you hun I'll protect you. I just need to open your eyes" Zoey is now sitting in the corner with her knees to her chest shaking. I motion for Perrie to go sit beside her. Once she gets over to her she wraps Zoey in her arms and holds her. "Zo come on now, open your eyes. Mommy is there beside you and she is not going to hurt you I promise." She finally opens her eyes. "Mommy.." her voice cracks it hurt to see her like this. "It's me Baby don't worry." Perrie tells her trying her best not to cry. I sit down beside Zoey and take her chin in my hand and say "Angel I need you to tell us what's wrong." She shakes her head and mumbled something. But I decide to let it slide as she's in no state to talk about whatever is bothering her. "Come on how 'bout you sleep with Auntie Jade and mom, yeah?" She just nods her head. Pez picks her up and we go into my room as it has a bigger bed. Perrie lays Zo In between the both of us. Soon Zo falls asleep but Perrie and I are wide awake wondering what's going on in the beautiful girls mind between us. "Poopey?" Haven't heard that nickname in while "yeah Pezza?" I ask looking up at her as she was now sitting against the backboard. "Who do you think she was talking about? Like who hurt her?" Looking down on Zoey I frown, how could anyone hurt such a soul. "I don't know love, but it'll be alright" she sighs and faces me once more. "I don't know what I'd do without you Jade" she tells me, I see nothing but truth in her eyes. I reach out to her and take her hand, there's that feeling again, it's strange but oh well "I wonder the same thing everyday. I'm always here for you" I tell her truthfully.

It's morning and I wake up to the sun shining in my face and two sleeping beauty's in front of me. Then I remember what happened last night, I wish I knew what was going on. Hopefully Zoey will tell us once she wakes up. I go down to make some breakfast. Once it's ready I go to wake the two up. I wake Zoey first as she's easier to get up. She gets up and goes down stairs to wait. Once I wake Perrie up we walk downstairs and see Zoey on a chair by the stove! Perrie quickly runs to her and stoops her up. "And what do you think you're doing young lady, you know better than to be by the stove" Perrie tells her, sitting her down on the counter checking for any burns or injuries. Zo looks down saying sorry. "It's alright babe next time just wait for us, yeah?" I say trying to lighten the mood. She nods and motions for me to come over. I did and got tackled into a big hug. I look over at Perrie who's laughing I quickly tell her to join and she does we stay like that for about a minute before Zoey yells she hungry. Perrie fixes everyone's plate while I text the girls asking if we have anything planned for the day. Thankfully there's nothing. Perrie sets our plates down and sits beside Zo and across from me. I give her a knowing look as we want to talk to Zoey about what happened last night. "Zoey, do you remember what happened last night?" I ask, she looks down and nods saying sorry. "Baby girl you don't have to be sorry, not at all. Just tell us what it was about. Who... hurt you?" Perrie asks, afraid of the answer. Zoey just shakes her head mumbling something incoherent. "Belle, we need to know" I tell her "it was just a dream guys, nothing to freak out over." Maybe it's something from her past. "Perrie, come with me please" She looks at me and nods. We go to the garden and sit on the swing. "Perrie what is it's something from her past, like from her real parents or something. Maybe it's nothing now, something that won't happen again, you know?" I ask hopeful as I don't want anything to be happening to her in the present that we can prevent. "You're probably right" she says looking at me and hugging me. "It's alright Pez as long as she's with us and the girls she'll be safe." She just nods and stands up. "We probably shouldn't leave her unattended too long, because she's probably into something by now. I mean she was just playing by the stove" waking back into the house I notice it's silent. I look at Pez and she looks back, I run to the kitchen she's not there I call for Pez to see if she found her. Only to find out she hasn't. The pool! Oh no! I quickly run to the pool house, only to find her in the beach chair with my IPad. "Pez! I found her!" I yell out. "You young lady know that you are not to be in here without an adult" I scold her pointing my finger. "Sorry Auntie Jade I was just bored. I didn't get in I swear I was just playing on your iPad." She says giving me a guilty look. I hear Perrie quickly run over and basically say the same thing I did to Zoey. We all get up and go to living room and sit on the couch and watch some Disney as usual. Perrie's phone starts to ring and she gets up and goes out of the room to answer it. After a while she comes back and pauses the movie. I look up at her and she turns to me telling me that was Alex and he's coming back home today. I sigh I was really enjoying their company too. "Zoey babe it's time to go home, daddy's coming home today and we have to get the house rounded up." Perrie says to Zoey while grabbing their things. "Mommy he's NOT my dad! I don't like him!" Zoey yells, I'm taken aback from her tone of voice. Quickly I snap out of it when I see Perrie running outside. I look at Zoey and tell her to stay put. I don't know what's gotten into her. I go search for Perrie and find her under the tree in my backyard. I slowly walk over and rub her back. "Why doesn't she like him?" I can tell this is really stressing her out. "Pez I don't know, maybe it's because her past. I mean last night she said "HE's going to hurt me" maybe she just not good around guys because I make has hurt her" I say trying to mentally figure out what's going on. "She likes Jed though..." she says in a quiet voice. That is true, maybe it's because... well I don't know. Alex wouldn't hurt her, would he? Surely not.
