Finn
Why did my mom have to grow up in such a awful town? Not to mention it's in the middle of no where. I mean seriously it's pretty much between two mountains, who would build a town between two mountains? But since it was really obvious my mom really needed to move out of the city and I guess where she grew up is the best place for her right now.
My mom's brother still lives here and owns a retirement home here where he offered her a job to take care of the old people. I didn't have a choice in the matter about moving here, even though my mom asked me if I wanted to stay in Portland with my crazy aunt Sasha instead of move here with her.
I could never leave my mom, she needs me more than she wants to admit. So now I am here in a new classroom, sitting next to new people, in a new school, in a tiny little country town. Great.
~~
It's the last period of the day and I am counting down the minutes in till I can get out of this classroom that smells like sweat and pencil shavings.
Right now I think I am in History class though I'm not paying much attention to the teacher and what she is saying to really know for sure.
But I think I heard her say Abraham Lincoln, but I have to much on my mind to be thinking about a dead president. ' Live every day like it's your last because one day it will,' is a saying my dad always told me when I would stay in my room like a hermit crab and never want to leave. Things happen every day, people die, babies are born, things just happen for no reason.
Screw fate, reality sucks.
The bell rings and everyone runs out of the classroom as if they're life depended on it. I guess I wasn't the only one who thought that this class horrid. Well first stop is my locker, which I still need to practise the combination for. I pass by the office on my my way to my locker, my attention gets grabbed by a orange flier on the bulletin board out side the office. I stop and read the flier and am shocked by what it says ' LOOKING FOR A GUITAR PLAYER FOR ROCK BAND,' I keep reading,
' You must be able to play guitar well, the auditions will be at Tyler Youngs house at 5:00 on sept. 8. ROCK ON!!!'
Wow, I'm pretty suprised that there is rock band here, I mean this town as only about 2,000 people.
But I guess this town isn't has lame as I thought, but it is still pretty lame.
Although I promised my mom that I would get involved in groups when we moved here and I am already volunteering at the retirement that my uncle owns and my mom works at. Plus I told my teacher that I would be happy to tutor some students, I am actually pretty smart I have a 98 average. But being in a band would make her even happier cause that means I will be meeting people too. I play gutiar and I am not half bad, though I have only even played in front of my ex-girl friend and my dad.
I stand at my locker with my hands moving the lock and going over the combination in my head. '12, 7,44 or is it 34, shit I can't remember," I think to myself as I try tugging on the lock. I feel the presence of someone next to me, I cross my fingers hoping it isn't one of the fan girly cheerleaders from this morning.
I slowly turn and face the person next to me, she is small about 5'3 and has a cruvy hourglass figure. Her two toned blonde hair is pulled up in a high ponytail while small strands fall behind her ears and in front of her forehead. She has light blue eyes and small pink lips. Our eyes meet and she blushes and turns away. I stop and pull out the paper that has all my teachers names and classes along with my locker combination number . I copy the numbers off the paper and dial it into the lock. I glance back at the girl before I leave my locker and head home. The girl is wearing a fitted light green hoodle, grey jean capris, and black converse.
Sure the girl is pretty, but nothing like Amber.
