Gwen

There is a feeling that you get when you do something out of your comfort zone, your whole body feels unhinged and lively. As if the person you were before is gone and the person you are now is fulfilled and rapturous. This feeling can come even if the reason is as small as going on a roller coaster for the first time even though your scared of heights, or the reason can be big as quiting your job and moving across the country. Big or small it's a great feeling, some people only feel it once  and others feel it all the time. But everyone feels it at one point in their life.

I was having that feeling.

                                                                                   ~

Finn and I are at the top of a 200 foot roller coaster and in about 3 seconds we will be flying down a huge drop. All I want right now is sour gummy worms. I am suffocating Finn's arm and my eyes are shut tightly. " Gwenie, open your eyes," Finn says and I do just before we plummet to our teenage death.

OH.MY.GOD.

My stomach feels like its in my chest and my whole body tingles. Wind rushes past us and the force makes me whip my head back. I look down and the world passes by us so quickly I can't make out anything. It felt amazing!

I felt like I was transported to a universe with no boundaries. A feeling that could never be recreated because it's the most original thing that has ever happened to me. I was in love with this feeling of a rabid moment.

"THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING FINN!!" I yell as soon has I can catch my breath. The drop ends and the track loops around a couple times before going over some other small drops. Nothing like the first one though.

We slow to a stop and I take a couple big breaths. Finn climbs out first and then reach's his hand out to help me up. I grab his hand to help stabilize myself. Finn gives me a wide and wild smile while I quickly return one.

"So Gwenie, was that not the best thing you have ever done?" Finn has a sheepish smile on his face. As I try to respond I realize I don't have any words to describe it. Amazing wouldn't cut it, and It was way better than awesome.

"It was phantasmagorical," I say finally finding the right word. It was like something created in a dream or some ones imagination.

"Phantasmagorical, huh? I have never heard any one describe a roller coaster as phantasmagorical." he laughs" So you can't ace your math tests but you can use a word like phantasmagorical to describe a roller coaster. Your a lot smarter than you think, Gwen,"

"Its just a word," I say whiling biting the inside of my cheek. "Wait, how did you know I am not acing my math tests?"

"Our moms are best friends, remember?" he laughs, his warm, full, and great laugh and starts to walk to the food court. I jog up to him so that we are walking side by side. "I will grab us some food ok?" He says, as I go and find us a table that doesn't have bird poop on it.

Finn returns a couple minutes later with three bags in his hand and..........COTTON CANDY!!

"So I got you a corn dog, sour gummy worms, water and a, not to mention very expensive, cotton candy." Finn hands me the food and I grab in greedily. He takes out his food and watch's me devour mine.  I probably look like such a pig right now, but I am way to distracted by my junk food to care.

" Gwen, why do you read so much?" Finn asks before taking a bite on his burger. The question takes me by surprise and I really can't think of a reason for a while. Finn notices that I obviously don't have an answer so he continues to talk. "I used to read a lot too. All of seventh grade my head was stuck inside a book. But then one day I realized reading is great but living is better, and the things you read in your books aren't going any where. But you are, no one lives for ever so you have to just live today." He smiles a sweet smile,"So after your done devouring your sugar feast, we can go on a more mellow ride."
