Finn
I hate waiting.
I hate waiting for people, things, events. I just hate waiting.
But I love movies.
I love comedies, horror, mystery, Si-fi, and action.
Right now I am waiting to go see a movie. Some guy named Nick who introduced himself to me in the hallway today at school, invited me to see a movie with him and another guy Steve. Nick said something about him being school president which I think makes him a senior, only one year older than me, and he mentioned something about wanting to become everone's friend. So since I'm new here he is trying his best to befriend me, so far meeting up with me to go see a movie was a good move on his part.
Plus after that weird dinner party with that girl Gwen, I could really use some buttery movie theater popcorn. I changed out of of my navy blue dress shirt I wore to Gwen's house, I changed into a long sleeved grey shirt and black bennie. My phone vibrates and I take it out of my pocket, Nick text me.
Nick: Hey man, sorry running late. Steve and I ran into our girl friends and they wanted to join. I hope you don't mind. They have a other single friend here too. ;) Be there in around 2 mins.
I chuckle at the comment about the girl, yeah right. I don't bother to respond to his text and instead get in line for popcorn. I think we are seeing a movie about aliens taking over the planet, if we don't see the alien movie then the other option is cheesy romance. I'm not in the mood for a Nicholas Spark romance movie, but then again I have never been in that mood. Nicholas Sparks just seems like any other lame romance novelist, true love and heart break. Just thinking about it makes me feel nauseous.
I see Nick walk in with a curly haired brunette girl on his arm. Nick looks the same as when I saw him at school, he is shorter than me about 5'11 and has short dirty blonde hair, and warm brown eyes. Behind him is a tall guy who looks like he workout outs a lot, the guy has short black buzzed off hair and dark tan skin. The tall guy I am guessing is Steve, and the strawberry blonde holding his hand is his girlfriend. " Hey Finn, sorry for making you wait. This is my girl friend Gigi," Nick introduces us and I smile at the pretty brunette " Oh and this is Steve and his girlfriend Ange. Oh and this is Gwen," Nick winks and I freeze.
I see her and the first thought that goes though my mind is how great she looks. Gwen's blonde hair is pulled up is messy bun on top of her head, she is wearing leggings that show off her fit legs and a tan sweater. Her face is flushed from the chill air and her blue eyes are sparkling.
The second thought that goes through my mind is how this she is the last person I wanted to see tonight. After that awkward conversation is her bedroom, every thing seems so tense.
I wasn't the only one who felt weird because Nick hesitantly interrupts our silence.
"So......do you guys know each other or something?" nick asks. I am about to answer but Gwen buts in before I say a word.
"Not really, we just have lockers near each other," Gwen responds half lying, half telling the truth.
Nick nods, we follow him to the ticket booths and pay for our tickets. I look at Gwen and give her a half smile, she returns it in a way to say ' Ya, now we don't have to explain the weird dinner party and mom thing.'
We grab seats near the back, probably because Steve and Nick want to make out with there girlfriends.
"Hey guys, I am going to move closer to the screen. I'll be fine be myself," Gwen tells her fiends before walking down the stairs to the 5th row closest to the screen. No! That's my favorite row, you have got to be kidding me. I follow her down and seat 4 seats away from her, the movie ads start and I notice Gwen slowly getting closer to me. The movie is finally about to start and I look down at my popcorn to find a hand that does not belong to me grabing a huge handful of popcorn. I eyes follow the arm and Gwen's body is at the end of it, why was she eating my paid for popcorn.
"what are you dong?," I growl while taking the popcorn out of her reach.
"I want some popcorn and you have some, so I am eating the popcorn, duh," she whispers while reaching over to grab another handful.
"You can't eat me popcorn, get your own. I paid for this!" I say a little to loud and someone behind me says 'shhh'.
" Please, I really want some and the movie already started," she pouts and gives me her puppy dog face. " Fine, here," I put the popcorn back on my lap and she starts to dig in. My poor popcorn.
"God, I hate Rick. I really hope a alien kills him," Gwen says, half way through the movie, about one of the characters. She is still looking at the screen and I glance over at her, before responding to her comment.
"Rick is awesome, he saved those kids that were trapped in the school," I whisper. She turns toward me and then back at the screen.
" What you have got to be kidding me, Rick is terrible. I really hope Luke kills him,"
"I hate Luke, he is such a asshole,"
"No way Luke rocks"
"Rick rocks"
"Luke"
"Rick"
"will you guys just shut the hell up!" the bald man behind us yells.
I sink into my seat before looking at Gwen. She is doing the same thing, we look at each other and laugh. Our laughing pisses off more than just the bald guy and the next thing I know Gwen and I are getting exited by the theater staff. We are still laughing through all of this and continue to laugh when we are on the side walk holding our stomachs.
"Did you see that guys face, it was so funny," Gwen says before gulping for air and laughing again.
Nick and the others met us out side about two minutes after, by that time we both kind of calmed down. I wave at Nick and Steve, and their girlfriends before walking off. Gwen and I exchange huge smiles before parting ways.
That was a really funny movie.
