Finn
I really like Gwen's grand father, Henry. I was assigned to keep an eye on him when I'm volunteering here at the retirement home. He has a theory about everything, and I mean everything. If you have a theory on the same subject he will let you speak, then he will tell you his theory. I liked talking to Henry by myself but I loved talking with Gwen, Henry and me much more. I will be honest, I am not to sure what I think about Gwen yet.
I mean she is a little sour and cold sometimes, but when she smiles the her whole face glows. Gwen is some one who I really enjoy bothering too. When I am doing something she dislikes I do it more, like when I was slurping my soda instead of drinking it normal. She literally took my soda and whipped it across the room. We have been spending a lot more time together since I am her grandfather's helper. I don't think she likes me spending time with Henry and her but she hides it pretty well. I can tell by the way Henry and Gwen talk that she is very close with him.
I am starting to really like hanging out with Gwen. She is really funny, almost everything that comes out of her mouth is hilarious even if she is not trying to be. I wouldn't consider Gwen and I as friends, more like laughing buddies. Okay, never mind laughing buddies sounds......weird. I am just worried Gwen might get the wrong idea and stat liking me or something. No offense to Gwen but I really don't want to date anyone right now. Plus I could never like Gwen, she is still stuck in lala land with her romance books and day dreams about her soul mate.
~
It is a Tuesday night and I am suppose to go see Gwen, this is going to be the first time Gwen and I hang out without Henry. "Hey hun, Can I talk to you for a minute?" my mom yells from the kitchen. My mom is wearing light blue jeans and a red v-neck t-shirt. She looks a lot better than she did 4 months ago. "Yeah mum, whats up?" I say while taking a swig of water. "So when were you going to tell me you and Gwen are dating?" she asks as if it was just a light topic question, like the weather or school. Gwen and Me! Me and Gwen! She has to be kidding.
There is no way my mom thinks I am dating Gwen! Is my mom crazy? I spit out the water that was in my mouth in surprise. "Finn Pierce! Why did you just do that?" mom my asks in shock while pointing her finger at the water on the floor. "What?! You are kidding, right?" I say throwing my hands in the air " No way mom, Gwen and I are strictly friends....Not even really friends,"
"You guys have been spending a lot of time together so I thought I might as well ask, now clean this up" she says innocently and turns back to the stove. I grab some paper towels and wipe up the mess. I kiss her on the cheek and walk out of the door. After all that I have only one person I know will ungerstand just how crazy the idea of Gwen and I dating is. Gwen.
Because Gwen and I are just friends.

Gwen and I planned to meet at the candy shop, Gwen picked the location. She said something about needing more sour gummy worms. I look inside the front window, I can see Gwen sitting at a table reading. I open the door and a bell rings, Gwen's eyes don't leave the book. I walk up to her table and sit down. Gwen's eyes are still focused on her book. I clear my throat, " I see you Finn, just let me finish this page," she says before placing her blue bookmark into her book and closing it. " Hey," I say trying to hide the fact that I was kind of hurt that she didn't look at me until now. " Hey, sour gummy worm?" she offers holding up a bag full of candy. " No I'm good" I say waving her off, "actually yeah, I do really want one," I grab a gummy worm and Gwen grabs a couple too.
I study her for a minute, she is wearing a pair of loose fitted overalls, a gray t-shirt, and converse. Her long blonde hair is braided and falls over her shoulder. Her face is flushed and her light blue eyes are sparkling. To be totally honest I am really surprised she doesn't have a boy friend, if she lived in Portland guys would be all over her.
"So did you hear Mumford and Sons new album?" She asks, I guess I looked confused because she rolls her eyes and laughs. " Mumford and sons is a band," she explains " They are amazing and very popular. I can't believe you have never heard of them,"
" I only listen to good music, sorry," I say while taking another handful of gummy worms and stuffing them in my mouth.
She signs and hits her head with her hand. " Mumford and Sons in an awesome band, I feel sorry for you that you have never heard their god like music." Gwen shrugs. I laugh at her comment and shake my head.
" So what kind of music so you listen to?" she ask crossing her arms over her chest.
" Not crappy boy bands like you," I say laughing. She gapes at my comment and clenches her fists.
" Mumford an sons are not a boy band," she says trying to keep a cool tone.
" Are they all boys?" I ask, I can't help but smirk at her fiery.
" Yes, but that doesn't mean they are a shitty boy band," she says in defensive.
"yes it does," I smirk
"No it doesn't. You have never even listened to their music before,"
" I don't need to hear them, I know the type"
"Urgh, Why are you so irritating," she throws her hands in the air dramatically. This is why I love bothering Gwen, she is such a drama queen.
" Want to hear something weird my mom said to me today?" I ask. She nods so I continue, " My mom thought you and I were dating," Her face is expressionless for about five seconds and then she breaks out onto a hysterical laugh. I join in on her laugh and I realize how much I love hearing her laugh. Fine I'll admit it, I really do like Gwen but Gwen and I dating. Never happening.
