Finn

Gwen is weird.

I mean she won't even look at me, and when she does its a evil glare. This girl has the scariest evil glare I have ever seen, you can tell just by looking in her eyes that she really does not like you. I tried to make conversation with her but all she did was roll her eyes and groan. I have never met a girl this moody, she won't talk to me and she keeps violently stabbing her food with her fork.

" So Finn, How was your first day of school here? Did you find all your classes ok?" asked Amy, Gwen's mom, while scooping mashpotatoes onto her white glass plate.

"Oh yeah, thanks for asking," I say " Actually Gwen and I have lockers right next to each other," I glance back at Gwen to see if that would make her talk. Gwen perks up and groans, I try to hold back a smile. For some reason seeing this girl so miserable is kind of entertaining.

" Honey you didn't mention you already met Finn," Amy says her eyes wide with curiosity.

" No I didn't met him until he walked into my room, I just saw him today at the lockers," Gwen Explains to her mom and then glances back at me giving me once again, the evil eye.

After dinner is over my mom and Amy go sit in the living room and talk. I watch Gwen scurry up the stairs so I follow her. She must of heard me behind her because she stops and turns around so our faces are inches apart.

"what do you think your doing?" she asks me while stepping back as soon as she sees how close we are.

"Um following you, or were you planing on ditching me and leaving me with the moms," I respond. I watch her lips move into a small smirk. I mirror her smile and pass her going up the stairs into her room. She did have a great room, I liked it because it didn't smell like perfume and air freshers. It smelt like books and cool spring air. The lighting in the room was amazing as well, the whole room was bright and comforting.

" So...I am guessing you like to read," I say trying to break the awkward silence in the room.

"Are you kidding, Its all I do, " she responds almost laughing.

" Oh yeah, so what kind of books do you read," I ask running my finger over the books on her many bookshelves.

" I read all kinds of books, but my favorite are romance novels," she says answering my question before sitting on the ground leaning her back on the end of her bed. I walk over to her bed and sit down next to her, wrapping my arms around my legs and knees into my chest.

" I just love the idea of true love and soul mates, oh and fate." she says " The fact that everything happens for a reason and that everything leads to something else."

I couldn't disagree more. Seriously love and fate, this girl is weirder than I thought.

" I don't believe in that kind of stuff," I say, but it comes out more harsh than I intended. I glance at Gwen to see if my comment offended her. But she just looks at me, her eyes are full of sadness and pity. As if she felt bad for me.

"Someone hurt you, didn't they?" she asks breaking the silence between us. I am shocked by her question and scoff to show she was wrong. She doesn't buy it at all.

" No one hurt me, I just think the whole fate and true love stuff sounds like a scam." I explain.

" Well, I think it is true and that it is the farthest thing away from a scam," Gwen claims " and I know that everyone has a soul mate and a person they are meant to be with,"

I can't believe this 16 year-old girl still believes in fate and true love. I wouldn't be surprised if she still watch Disney princess shows. I mean honestly, fate and love. I hear my name being called in the distance, I get up and walk towards the stairs.

" I have to go, so bye I guess," I say sourly before I walk down the stairs.

"Fine, I guess I'll see you on Monday," Gwen says In a voice that sounds a lot more like a pouting six- year old than anything else.

God that was like a dream that starts out great and then turns into a nightmare.
