Being Distracting

Soon they were at Hotel DuMort where Izzy was waiting for them.

"Izzy." Alec called out as soon as Izzy was in sight. "I got your text." He told her as she turned to them.

"Where are we exactly?" Kiara asked.

"It's an old meatpacker's entrance." Izzy said. "If we go back there, we come up into the basement of Hotel DuMort." She said, pointing as she spoke. "Perfect, right? We distract the vamps, Clary and Jace have time to find Simon."

"And speaking of them, where are they exactly?" Kiara asked.

"I don't know." Izzy replied simply. "They know their way around. We do our job. We distract the vamps."

"Okay." Alec said.

"Okay?" Izzy asked. "It was hard work interrogating Meliorn to get this Intel."

"Great job, Izzy." Alec said sarcastically. "You have faerie dust on your dress." He told her, making Kiara chuckle.

"Don't worry, I get it even if he doesn't. You put in a lot of swear to get this information, didn't you?" Kiara asked, smirking.

Alec made a face and walked ahead, making the girls giggle.

"A lot of sweat." Izzy said, raising an eyebrow before smirking at her brother who was hurrying ahead and sinking at Kiara.

"I hate being the distraction." Alec said.

"I don't." Izzy said.

"Neither do I." Kiara added.

"You are a walking distraction, babe." Izzy told her.

"Find a mirror, kid." Kiara shot back.

Alec sighed.

"You know, you'd be a lot happier if you weren't so freaking repressed." Izzy told Alec who continued walking paying no attention to what Izzy said. 

"Alec?" Izzy said.

"Hello?" Kiara called out.

But Alec paid no attention as walked ahead.

"You're really not going to talk to us, are you?" Izzy asked Alec, amused as the three of them walked side by side.

"That's because neither of you have any idea what you're talking about." He told his sister.

"But we do. You're hiding from yourself, not me." Izzy said. "You have feeling whether you like them or not, Alec."

"This is not the time or the place, Izzy." Alec said as he climbed the ladder in a corner.

"I don't know. Looks pretty smooth so far." Izzy said.

The two girls followed Alec up the ladder which led to what Kiara assumed was the basement of Hotel DuMort.

"This must be the way." Izzy said, making Kiara realise they weren't in the basement just yet. Izzy opened a door to reveal a group of vampires not far from the door.

The vampires growled and the three quickly shit the door and leaned against it.

"Well, not that smooth." Kiara commented.

"Any day now." Izzy said, looking at Alec.

"Yeah, if you hold the door still, it might be a lot easier." He said as he tried to draw a rune on the door. "It's not taking it!"

"Kiara." Izzy said before she took a step forward, took our her blade and cut a rod off handing it to Kiara who quickly thrust it in the handle.

"Whoever said, 'the pen is mightier than the sword' was an idiot." Izzy said.

"When you're right, you're right." Alec told her.

The three stood with their weapons in hand, looking at the door as the vampires on the other side of it pushed and banged.

"Do you think they know where we are?" Izzy asked.

"That's the idea, right?" Alec replied.

"How long do you think we have to distract them for?" Alec asked.

"Ten more minutes." Izzy said.

"Ten minutes?" Kiara asked, looking at the door which was nearly open.

"Are you kidding?" Alec said as he drew an arrow.

"We're liquid lunch in five." Kiara said, Alec agreeing with her.

"So let's distract them." Izzy said.

"So let's distract them." Alec repeated, agreeing.

"You guys better get ready." Izzy told the pair.

Just then, the door opened, revealing vampires.

"And here, Twilight had me thinking that vampires were hot." Kiara commented, sighing.

Izzy smirked at her before she shot her whip forward, wrapping it around a vampires ankle and pulling, causing him to fall.

The vampire shrieked as the others filled unto the room.

Alec shot one who went down in ashes.

"Talking about taking the enemy down." Kiara commented as she thrust her seraph blade inside one. Alec shot another one as Izzy killed of the vampire on the floor.

"This is fun." Alec said as they looked around for more vampires.

They spotted some just outside.

"Keep coming, boys." Izzy called out.

They finished off the remaining few before walking ahead. They walked into the hotel, looking out for vampires until they heard voices coming from a room.

"Is that Clary?" Kiara asked, identifying her sisters voice.

The three exchanged a look before quickening their pace.
