Chapter 12: Find The Memories

Find The Memories

"Mom was in the circle." Clary repeated.

"And?" Kiara asked.

"We believe that...um...do you remember mom said something about hiding something from someone?" Clary asked. When Kiara nodded in affirmative she continued. "We believe it's the mortal cup that she had been hiding."

"The mortal cup? As in, the one you just told me about?" Kiara asked Izzy.

Izzy nodded. "That's the only mortal cup. So..most definitely."

"But then what's the other?" Kiara asked. Clary looked at her in confusion and so did everyone else. Kiara sighed. "Try to remember Clars, mom told us that she did two things from the man and his followers."

The realisation hit clary. "Yes, she did say that. I don't know. What else could she have been hiding?" She wondered.

"Right now, we know one thing. Let's focus on that. We will find the other along the way." Jace said. "Now, both of you think. Try to remember. Do you have any idea where she could have hidden the cup? Have you ever seen it?" Jace asked.

"No." Both of them said at once.

"Try to. Try to remember. Think. Both of you." He urged.

"There's nothing Jace!" Clary said. "Whenever I try to remember something like that, that past and all. Nothing comes. It's all empty, black darkness."

"Same." Kiara said.

Jace's eyes widened in realisation. "Both of you have had your memories wiped." He said.

"I think the same." Alec said.

"Memories wiped? What do you mean?" Simon asked, making Kiara jump.

"Oh god. I forgot that you were there." She said.

"That's not possible. How can that happen?" Clary said. But then she turned to Jace. "Wait. Can it?"

"It can. If you know a warlock." Alec told her. "I'll be back in a few minutes. Have some work to get done." With that, Alec left.

"A warlock?" Clary questioned.

"Yes. Immortal beings. They're half human, half demon." Kiara told her.

"Some times their fingers spark." Jace added in.

The two sisters exchanged looks of wonder. Could it be...?

"Dot. Our mom's assistant." Clary says. "Her hands had this purple glow when she opened the wall and our mom pushed us through and we ended up at the police station."

"That must've been a portal." Izzy said. "Dot must have been a warlock. Only warlocks can create them."

"So if we find Dot." Clary started.

"The real one." Kiara added.

Clary shot her a look. "If we find her, we can easily find the cup and get our mother back?" She asked.

"Possibly." Izzy said.

"Unless she's working for Valentine." Jace added.

"That'll be even better. She'll lead us right to him." Kiara said. "We need to find her." She finally added.

"So, you're just going to go and try to find Dot?" Simon asked protestingly.  "Am I the only one who doesn't like this? Doesn't anyone else feel scared? What if something goes wrong?"

"Shut your boyfriend up Clars." Kiara sighed.

"He's not-" Clary started.

"Your boyfriend." Kiara finished in a bored tone. "I've heard that a million times, ignored it a million times. What makes you think I'll listen?" She asked smiling in a sarcastic sickly sweet way.
