Why me?

The talk

I walk into studio A the next morning to see Abby and Gia standing there waiting for me.

"Hi Chloe, ready get started on your solo?" Abby asked.

"Sure am Miss Abby" I replied.

"Ok so this solo is about a girl who is in poverty, and she is an amazing dancer just like you and is trying to pursue her dream in being a dancer, so she dances out on the streets and has a tin for donations, but unfortunately because she is so weak and poor she unfortunately dies. So obviously I will need your mum to get you a tin of some sort for a prop and I already have your costume. Right lets get this show on the road!" Miss Abby explained to me my dance, and I nodded along, if i showed the right emotion, this solo will be a winner!

I started with my back facing the audience curled up in a ball.

"and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4....." Miss Abby counted.

~Skip to the end of Chloe's solo rehearsal~

"Chloe don't sickle your left foot in that last pirouette!!!" Miss Abby screeched. I don't mind Miss Abby yelling at me, I'm used to it. At least when she is yelling at me I know I can get better.

"Chloe come over hear I want to talk to you about your dance. The dance itself is lovely, but I really want you to dig deep down and show your emotion. Got it?" She questioned.

"Yes Miss Abby," I replied.

"Now I know you have been having a tough time with some of the girls from the studio?" I was shocked how did she know I just nodded my head signalling for her to carry on, "we do see everything that goes on in the studio, we are not blind. And on top of that I know you miss Paige and Brooke greatly!" just hearing there names made me want to crawl up in a ball and cry! "Well I want you to put that pain into this dance and show your emotion, I know you can do it! Now go and get Kalani and Kendall for their duet!" Miss Abby told me.

Wow that was the nicest thing Miss Abby has ever told me!

That night for the first time in forever I went to sleep straight away not thinking about anything but my solo, now was my time to shine.
