Today has been really stressful. Hazardous, actually. Chloe could've been killed! It seems just as one problem ended, the other began.
In the middle of helping Chloe, Claire texted me.
'Campus Central. Now! -Claire'
I was extremely confused. Why would Claire text me? She was like the queen bee, and I was just a hive worker. Then I realized, it had to involve Alyssa. She hadn't been with the rest of us since who knows when. It was just around the time her nap would be wrapping up.
It was the guys. Again. Those little dooshbags! I could kick each one of them in the ass so hard, the pain won't catch up to them, 'til they're in midair.
'I'm on my way.'
I let the girls know, and set out the door. I had been in the Psychology building before, but not as a student. You see, Alyssa used to take Psychology, as a backup to her major, nursing. They had a project, which involved interviews. Of course, she chose me. I didn't quite remember the ins and outs of the building, so I just ran through a random exit.
Just my luck. Shit, I thought. Of all the doors, I had just run through an emergency exit. Alarms sounded through the building. Emma panicked, screaming through the hallway. I just made a run for it, not worrying about anything except Alyssa.
When I finally got to Campus Central, Amy and Claire stood by a panicking, bone thin girl. Alyssa. She was tied to the redwood in the middle of Central.
"Why the hell are you two still standing there? Untie her already, for gosh sake."
"Hannah, we tried already. They're really tough knots." said Claire.
"And what makes you think that you can just come out of nowhere, and start cussing us out?!" yelled Amy.
I didn't like Amy too much. She was always overreacting. She surely was the drama queen of the group, as if Emma wasn't one enough. She was usually fine, but always had a bitchy snip in her voice.
"Calm yourself. I'm just saying, how hard can it really be?"
"Hey guys, I'm still tied to a tree." Alyssa said, annoyed by our rant.
"Yeah, sorry." I started to attempt the knot. Amy and Claire were right. It was really tough.
"Stupid Boy Scouts." I said. "Wish I would've learned how to tie the impossible knot. I would've cinched their necks with embroidery floss. True story."
"Well, do you know anyone who can help us?" Claire asked, stress in her voice.
A lightbulb went on in my head.
"Yeah, actually, I think Nat may be of some assistance to us."
"Well, call her then!" Amy yelled.
"Sheesh. Okay!" I said in respondence to Amy's frazzledness.
I called Nat. She picked up right away.
"Jason? Sorry! I know we had plans for tonight! Wait, Jason, is that you?"
Nat had plans with Jason? Wow, it's those baseball guys. I don't know what she sees in them.
"Sorry, Nat. It's just Hannah. Jason, really, Nat?"
"What, he's hot?" Awkward silence.
"Well he also happens to play on the baseball team."
"Oh, I didn't know that." she lied.
"Whatever, Nat. Just, get down here, quick. Do you know how to untie an impossible knot?"
"I forget, but I'll get Derrick and be down there ASAP."
"Thanks, Nat."
"You're welcome, and please don't tell the girls about Jason. You know how I don't like hearing all the girly talk about boys."
"Of course."
With that we both hung up.
"She's on her way with Derrick," I said. "Alyssa, don't worry. We'll have you out as soon as Nat gets here."
"Alright Hannah, but my biggest concern is happening within a matter of minutes."
"What?" I asked.
"Aikatsu's on in 5 minutes! It's a whole episode about Ran Shibuki!"
I face palmed. Alyssa didn't live on oxygen. She breathed animé.
Nat got here with Derrick within only a few minutes. They walked up the hill together, and they must've had a funny conversation, since they were both laughing their asses off.
"How's an OMT geek supposed to help us? Half of OMT is already against us." Amy laughed.
"The Omega Mu Theta dorm, you will never find a more wretched hive of villainy and scum," I said, quoting Star Wars.
Nat smiled and high fives me. If there's two things she loves, it's baseball, and of course Star Wars. Star Wars, because Star Trek is insanely stupid.
"Anyways," said Derrick. "I'm not just a geek. I'm a jock slash geek. I play baseball, remember?"
"I'm surprised Nat hasn't started hitting on you yet," I said.
Nat punched my elbow, and Derrick just laughed at my truthfulness.
"Okay, so what's the prob?" asked Derrick.
"Well," I said. "You see that shrimpy little white girl tied to a tree?"
"So you want me to untie her," Derrick said, playing dumb.
"Well if that wasn't a blinding glimpse of the obvious, I don't know what is one, Derr." Nat said, kicking his shin playfully.
"Alright guys!" said Claire. "Enough messing around!"
"Yeah," Derrick agreed.
He set off to untying her. He was like a pit crew in a NASCAR race. It took him barely a matter of seconds.
"You're good to go, shorty." he said.
"Thanks, guys! Aikatsu, here I come!" she said, and took off running.
"Haha, that girl sure loves her anime." I said.
"You're not from around here," Derrick pointed out to me.
"No, you're right, I'm not. Pure Pacific Islander. I'm from Hilo, Hawaii. And judging by your accent and already knowing your sister, you are from New England."
"Correct. A little town called New Bedford. It's not too far from Boston. Well, I'd better get going. Randy will be waiting for me."
"See you, thanks for the help."
"No problem." He said, walking out of sight. Nat stayed.
"What was that all about?"
"What?" I asked.
"You flirting with," she looked disgusted as she choked on her words. "My brother."
"I didn't flirt with him! I mean, he's okay, but you know I only like scene guys."
"Whatever, lets just get back to the dorm."
Nat and I went back. Amy and Claire stayed behind, probably talking about us. Amy, more than Claire.
"I'm hungry!" I yelled.
"Second on that!" she replied.
We ran back to the dorm, hoping for some food source when we got back.
