Layla’s P.O.V
He neatly folded the white dress into two, and placed it carefully on the counter. I was very satisfied with the dress, and thankful that Jeff didn’t agree with my choices. He held my hand and led me to the jewelry section. “How about this?” he asked. I saw the necklace between his fingers. It had 3 inch diamond studded silver bow, and as for the chain, there was a white translucent ribbon. It was stronger than it looked. Jeff told me to turn, and he gently brought my hair to one side. He trailed his fingers up my spine, before hooking the chain on to my neck. His simple gesture sent chills all over my skin, and I could feel the heat rising to my neck as he turned me around. The ribbon on my collarbone, and the bow glittered under the lights. It was beautiful. I smiled at Jeff appreciatively to give him my approval. He removed the chain, grazing his finger on my neck, in the process. He found a matching piece of earrings after looking the collection of diamond earrings placed on the display.
“I wish you were mine,” he mumbled, softly.
“What?” I asked him. Not trusting what my ears picked up when he spoke.
“Nothing. I just said I’m hungry, that’s all,” he said. He was very quiet this whole time after choosing my dress. I couldn’t help but think that I might behaved or said something wrong. I plastered a matching frown on my face and continued to walk mindlessly with him. He was in deep thoughts, so I took this opportunity to take in his depth of his eyes. His eyes were distant, a darker shade of blue. Like the ocean. I was lost in it, and I was hoping never to be found. I sighed and took my eyes away from his. I wanted to be his, just like I thought I heard him say. “What did you say?” he broke my thoughts. I saw him placed all the things we just took on the counter. Ahh great. I spoke out loud again. I mentally slapped myself for voicing my stupid thoughts. “Food. I meant food is all I want,” I lied. He knew me too well, to even consider that as the truth. But instead of pushing it, he just smirked. I scowled, and he laughed. The most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard. His mood lightened and I was glad.
After having who was going to pay, we both decided on sharing the cost. Finally. He carried the bags to the car in silence. His hands rested on my waist and I laid my heads on his shoulder and we walked together in silence; trying to read what was on each other’s mind. I loved Jeff, a lot. More than myself. More than anything else. Let alone what others say about me. They’re the reason I have Jeff this close with me now, and I can’t thank them enough.
Jeff’s P.O.V
She laid her head on my shoulder and my hormones started rushing all over my body. Why is it so hard to just tell her how I feel? She knows me more than anyone else, and I want this to go one step further. I can’t hide my feelings forever. I never did that before, and she’s making this harder for me with every single thing that she does. I’m doing this only for her, keeping my feeling under check. But that won’t be for long. Somehow, I’ll open up to her. Soon. It’s like being together, yet forever apart.
“Jeff,” she said.
“Yeah babe?’ I raised an eyebrow at her.
“We’ve been walking around the mall like this for a very long time now. We just passed Basking Robbins,” she said. My mood immediately shifted and Layla switched places with food in my mind.
“Oh My God!. This can’t be happening. Let’s goo!! I dragged her back down the way we walked.

“I’ll have the chocolate sundae and a vanilla scoop with peanuts,” I said to the brunette at the cashier. She filled our orders quickly and slid it across the counter. We paid and sat on the couch table, beside each other.
I felt weird. I didn’t know why. It’s like everything was moving in a slow motion. Her lips were moving. Yes, she was saying something. But what was it? I couldn’t hear anything Her hands were moving frantically in front of my face. She looked like she was about to cry. I wanted to reach out for her and tell that I’m fine. But before I could even plan my next move, everything shut down. I blacked out. bUt I could hear now. My ice cream dropped on the table. I heard Layla screaming my name. Oh baby, don’t worry. I wanted to hold her. My head hit the floor. Her voice was distant, slowly fading away. Was I dying? My mind was beginning to play tricks on me, and I can’t decide which was reality, so I let the world decide that, and went with the flow to wherever I was going.
