Jeff’s P.O.V

We successfully are a 2 weeks away from graduating from high school. We finished our exams and scored with enough results that will bring us colleges. Well, most of us. Akshay and Irene have applied for Manipal University in India, so that Akshay can introduce Irene to his parents and they can continue to study there. Adam, Elsa, Layla and I applied to The University of Queensland in Australia, and we were still waiting for the acceptance letters. The thing was Elsa and Layla scored amazing results with all A’s on the result. But Adam and I had a few B’s here and there so we were not so sure about all of us being accepted in to the university.

About a week later, we each got a mail delivered to us with the words ‘UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND’ printed in dark green block letters with the university’s logo on it. With shaky hands I opened it, slowly scanning the white piece of printed paper.

WE ARE SORRY TO INFORM YOU THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND DOES NOT HAVE THE PLEASURE OF ACCEPTING YOU

The moment I read that line, my phone blasted with notifications from the chat group 6 of us were in.

Elsa : I DIDN’T GET IN!!! I HAVE TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER ONE NOW! CRAP!

Adam : I GOT IN! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? I UH I CAN’T BREATHEE!!

Layla : IS IT SURPRISING THAT I’M FLYING TO AUSTRALIA IN A FEW MONTHS??

I sighed. Great Layla and Adam got accepted and Elsa and I had to find another university now. I informed my aunt and uncle about what had happened and right before I left to my room my phone started ringing. “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL WHAT HAPPENED? DID YOU GET IN OR NOT?” she yelled into the phone. I flinched a little before replying  “I didn’t,” and hung up.  10 minutes later, there was the doorbell, and I knew she would probably be running to my house. I opened the door, and saw Layla panting heavily and said, “Let….me…in… I…need….water,” and pushed me aside. She filled a glass of water and gulped it within seconds before hugging my aunt. “I’ll be upstairs. Jeff and I have some serious talking to do,” she said to my aunt and glared at me. “Come on,” I pulled her by the waist and kissed her neck. No failure of being accepted to a university will spoil my love for her. I swiftly lifted her and threw her over my shoulders and walked up the stairs to my room my room . Truth is, I’m not mad that, I didn’t get into the college with Layla, I was half expecting that I wouldn’t go because of the results I had. I was mad that, she was going with Adam. But I let that rest, because going to Australia was layla’s dream and I wasn’t going to trash that because I was jealous. “I have to apply for another college now,” I told Layla once we were in our room. “Why don’t you apply for Queensland again? I think that’s what Elsa is doing,” she replied, dusting her hands. “Tell her not to. Because it will take more time. And that’s a waste. I’ll see if I can apply for a local university. And I’ll ask if Elsa wants to go to the same university as me. When do you have to leave for Australia?” I asked her and sat down beside her, running my hands through my hair. “In a month. Which college do you want to apple for?” she asked and I just shrugged.  Adam was taking the same course as Layla : Psychology.

The day after that, Elsa and decided to apply for a local college 3 hours from home.  I was notified by email a week later that I was accepted and Elsa called me to tell that she too was accepted.

3 weeks later, the night before Layla left. I decided to stay the night at her house. “Do you think everything is packed? Extra toothbrush, lots of clothes, money, stuff, stuff and more stuff,” she kept saying over and over again. I pulled her on to the bed and said, “You’ve said that at least 12 times in the past hour. I want to spend every second until you step into campus tomorrow, and don’t spoil that by reminding you wont be here until Christmas, okay?” and kissed her nose. “Okay,” she said and stood up to zip her bag. “I’ll miss you,” she said, as she laid down beside me and wrapped her hands around my torso and burying her face on my neck. “Yeah,” I said and climbed onto her, my elbows supporting my body from falling on hers, before lowering myself until our lips met. I let myself drop on her, at the sudden outburst of passion. Her legs involuntarily wrapped itself around my waist and I pushed myself further to her. I let my emotions take over as I slightly lift her shirt enough to let my hands on her bare skin. She was sweating terribly even though the air condition was on full blast and I smirked through the kiss. I turned over so that she was now above me. I let go for a bit, to take in a dream breath, and buried my face on her neck, and left trails of kisses down her neck, behind her ears, and sucking on her skin slightly in an attempted teases her. In return she pulled on my hair and pushed my face further into the crook of her neck. “Enough,” she breathed. And I rolled off her, and pulled her onto my chest. “Okay, we should sleep or now or we won’t be getting any sleep today,” I said and winked at her in the dark room. She slapped my arm playfully before snuggling closer to me and I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and rocked her to sleep.

HEY EVERYONE! IN THE NEXT CHAPTER LAYLA AND ADAM WILL BE LEAVING TO COLLEGE/UNIVERISTY! I'm so excited for the chapterrr! There is only around 9 more chapter left!
