It was minutes bago tumunog ang bell and students in the corridor were beginning to enter into their respective classes.

Naglalakad si Lilian nang biglang mag-vibrate ang kanyang cellphone in her pocket. She fished it out and looked at the blinking screen.

It was an anonymous number.

Binasa niya ang text.

Lilian's eyes widened.

"YES!" she shouted with a fist pumped in the air. Akala mo nanalo siya ng jackpot sa lotto. Pinatitinginan na siya ng mga ibang estudyante na para siyang nababaliw.

Oh well hindi na bago 'yon.

She mouthed a 'Sorry' before she flipped her phone open again. Sinave niya ang number ni Charles as "My Captain". She started to write a reply to Charles.

She's engrossed while trying to make her text impressive. Hindi niya narinig ang footsteps ng isang estudyante sa likod niya. Unfortunately, ang taong ito ay busy din sa pag-a-adjust ng necktie niya sa kanyang polo, not noticing there was actually a girl blocking his way.

The two collided and landed on the ground, one on top of the other. Lilian gasped underneath the guy who knocked her down.

Nakilala ni Lilian kung sino ang taong ito...

"HOY! UMALIS KA NGA SA AKIN!!!" Lilian shouted in shock while pounding on Daniel's shoulders.

Tumayo si Daniel, brushing the dirt off his shirt.

"Mag-sorry ka sa akin," Lilian demanded with her hands on her hips.

"Ikaw nga itong nakaharang sa daan."

"ANO--"

*Riiiingggg*

The bell rang. Lilian and Daniel glared at each other for a few seconds. Tapos sabay silang tumakbo papunta sa klase nila, praying they wouldn't be late.

Pagdating nila sa room, they both entered the door at the same time. Naipit sila sa masikip na doorway kung saan isang tao lang naman ang makakapasok. One at a time.

The commotion attracted the attention of their classmates inside.

"Guys, pakibilisan ang pagpasok. I have some announcements to make," Nicole, the ever responsible student council president stood on the platform.

Nagtutulakan pa rin ang dalawa sa pintuan.

Until both of them entered--sabay silang natumba papasok sa room. They got up immediately and glared at each other.

"NERD!!!" she said, glaring.

"MIDGET!!!" Daniel retorted.

Ashley and Daniel quickly sat in their seats nang maiisip nilang napanuod lang naman ng buong klase ang pinaggagagawa nila. Nakakahiya.

Incoherent chats and giggles soon continued inside the room after the incident. Wala pa ang homeroom adviser nila.

"Hey guys, listen," Nicole called the attention of everybody.

"Did someone say chicken?" Lilian asked bluntly.

All she thinks about, maliban sa pag-iisip ng ficional story nila ni Charles, ay pagkain.

"Hahaha, ang sabi niya listen, not chicken. You should better make your ears checked. Or should I say stomach? Ang takaw mo kasi," Daniel answered.
