Ch.30 : Partners in Crime (Part 2)

Jenny entered Kent with a determined will na baguhin ang sarili niya. So, at her first day, she wore a big round thick black framed glasses and a big backpack that is too big for her body frame.

And since that day onwards, she managed to be the campus dork/geek/nerd or whatever her bullies tried to call her.

Yes, marami pa ring humahabol sa kanya. But this time, bullies naman. Kahit na ganoon, she's still happy with her decision. Mas mabuti na low profile siya dito. Her family wouldn't even care kung anong nangyayari sa kanya by the way.

At least, kahit papaano, she can be herself in this school. Walang mga arranged dates from her classmates and schoolmates. Walang mga paparazzi at stalkers. Walang pressure na higitan ang kuya niya. At walang kahit ano mang bakas ng pagiging Madrigal niya.

Jenny is walking along the hallway. Papunta siya sa rooftop para panuorin ang sunset habang inaantay ang sundo niya.

"Ang gwapo niya talaga. Grabe!"

"I want him to be mine!"

"Can you believe that he has a fans club now?!"

Jenny rolled her eyes at these crazy fangirls. Since day one, pinag-uusapan na nila ang lalaking iyon.

Who?

Well, his name is Charles De Vera. And according to some gossip girls' statistics, almost 2/3 of the whole population of their school are crazy fans of this guy. And this number is really hard to achieve for just a sophomore who just studied here for 2 years.

Jenny met him on her first day here. Apparently, magkaklase pala sila.

Naalala pa niya ang araw na yun. 

Her teacher introduced her to the class.

She looked around and noticed that almost all of her classmates are not minding her, they are all glancing or staring at Charles. While he? He was just staring at the window. He's staring at no one. Minding no one.

"Hello, everyone. You can just call me Jenny," she said, smiling.

But suddenly her classmates laughed. They are laughing because she really looks like a complete nerd.

Jenny bit her lip.

I need to do this. In this way, they wouldn't bother me much.

"Jenny, pwede ka na umupo. Choose your seat. Anywhere," their teacher said.

Jenny looked around, looking for a vacant one. Then, for the first time, their eyes met.

Charles stop staring outside. He stared right into her eyes. She didn't know what to do. So, she just stared back at him, blankly.

He gave a weird look at her and then looked away, looking outside again.

She saw a vacant chair to the back row. The seat at the left most part of the room, opposite of him because he sat at the right most part beside the windows. Many students are sitting in between them.

He is----

Jenny shook her head, stopping herself from daydreaming more.

Bakit ko ba siya iniisip?

Hay....

I should just really rest at the rooftop before going home.

Kung ano-ano na ang naiisip ko.
