Ch.17: This is it

It was already 8 pm at marami nang students ang nasa party hall. Naka-schedule na by 8:30 pm magsisimula na ang auction para sa mga date representatives.

The atmosphere was classy and at the same time, hype para sa mga teenagers na nandoon. Relaxing RnB music is played in the background, added with the incoherent chatters and laughs from students.

There seated inside the party hall was Ashley. Katabi niyang nakaupo sa table ay ang kaibigan niyang si Lilian.

They were one of the earliest that night dahil sinundo pa nila si Jeryll, at ngayon nasa dressing room siya to prepare for the auction later. The two accompanied her to make sure that everything will be okay.

"Where the heck is Daniel and Anthony?" Lilian asked. Nag-aalala na siya dahil baka mamaya kailanganin ni Jeryll ang mga kaibigan nilang lalaki sa auction but now they're nowhere to be seen.

"I don't know where Anthony is," Ashley replied.

"At nasaan naman ang NERD na 'yon ngayon?"

Then Lilian sighed and grabbed her glass of water and drank it.

Suddenly, her phone vibrated.

Binasa niya ang text.

"Arggh! Stupid nerd!!!" Lilian yelled pagkatapos basahin ang text.

"What's wrong?" Ashley asked.

Ipinakita ni Lilian ang text ni Daniel kay Ashley.

Lian! I'm sorry but I'm too sick to attend! I don't really feel well, today. Just bid for Jeryll in my behalf. Bid highest! Kailangan mo manalo kung hindi lagot ka sa akin! Kahit magkano, I'll just pay you later!

"See? Stupid! Paano tayo magbi-bid for Jeryll? We're girls, for crying out loud!!! Stupid nerd!!!" Lilian complained.

Ashley palmed her forehead.

So, their only hope is...

...Anthony.

"Waaaahhh! Aaashleeeey!!!" Lilian wailed.

"Okay lang yun, Lian," Ashley patted her back.

"No! Hindi ito okay! It's not Ash! Hindi ko naman inaakalang that b*tch will really bid for 95,000 pesos for Charles! My budget for tonight is only 80,000 pesos! I should've won Ashley! Ako dapat ang manalo! I should have bid for half a million! I should've won! Not her! Not that b*tch!" Lilian wailed louder, attracting weird looks from students from the other tables.

"Shh! Hey! Lilian! Stop cursing!" Ashley chastised her. Lilian ignored her and just continued to wail like a 3 year old child who lost her favorite toy.

Natalo si Lilian sa auction for Charles. She's the highest bidder with 80,000 pesos pero out of nowhere may isang babaeng nagtaas ng kamay at nag-bid for 95,000 pesos. So, nanalo siya and bagged the varsity captain. Kaya hayan, Lilian is wailing like a baby now.

"I should've won Ashley! Ako dapat 'yon! Hindi lang ako makapag-bid ng malaki kasi I'm saving my extra money para kay Jeryll. I'll just bid for her with my extra money eventhough I'm a girl. Ganoon ko kamahal ang kaibigan natin that I'll embarass myself just to help our friend because Anthony might not show up. Speaking of him, nasan na ba ang lalaking 'yon?! He should better get his ass in here kasi susunod na si Wave and then after him is Jeryll," Lilian said, gritting her teeth.
