Ch.18: Priceless

Before Jeryll can make up her mind, someone spoke up, loudly.

"Excuse me...

...I want to bid

....A HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS FOR A DATE WITH HER."

Nagulat ang lahat.

Everyone turned their attention towards the back of the hall where the voice came.

A tall man entered the party hall. He is the true epitome of prince charming suot ang kanyang white suit. His features are like that from sculptures--perfect. His hair is brushed neatly showing his handsome face. He has those smoldering eyes. He smiled ng makita niya si Jeryll sa gitna ng stage. He walked slowly towards the stage.

Napatigil ang lahat, some even held their breaths, pinched theirselves and rubbed their eyes to see kung nananaginip lang ba sila. His entrance sure is jaw dropping.

He looked so manly but so gentle at the same time. He's the guy that everyone dreamed of.

Lumapit siya at umakyat sa stage. Anthony patted Jeryll's head gently and handed her a bouquet of roses that he had been hiding behind his back.

"So, ako na ba ang nanalo sa auction ni Jeryll?" Anthony asked the two shocked MCs.

"Err...yeah...we think so." Nicole managed to reply in her state of shock.

Jeryll looked at him, shocked.

Anthony...

Simula pa noon, nagpapasalamat na siya na nakilala niya ang isang lalaking katulad ni Anthony. A guy who have those mesmerizing eyes and a gorgeous smile and a guy who's always there para sa kanya.

Suddenly, he knelt down on one knee, "Jeryll, will you be my date for tonight?"

There was a long silence. Naghihintay ang lahat.

Jeryll froze.

Anthony gulped kasi hindi sumasagot si Jeryll.

Suddenly, Jeryll leaned down and pulled him up to a standing position.

"Syempre naman," sagot niya habang nakangiti.

He also smiled back.

Then, Anthony faced the audience.

"Makinig kayong lahat. Ang babaeng katabi ko ngayon, si Jeryll Marie Pablosa, is worth MORE than TEN, FIFTY, HUNDRED THOUSAND OR EVEN A MILLION PESOS."

Tumigin siya kay Jeryll and smiled sincerely a her.

"Nothing in this world is worth her value because this girl is...

...priceless."

Then everyone became silent. Bigla silang nahiya sa inasal nilang lahat kanina. Suddenly, some people stood up at sumunod, lahat na nang mga tao ay tumayo at pinalakpakan si Anthony at Jeryll. Some even cooed and became jealous.

Soon enough, everyone cheered Jeryll and Anthony.

Tapos bumaba na silang dalawa sa stage at umupo na sa table nila katabi ang mga table ng ibang representatives with their '

"auction" date.

"So, now the auction is over guys! It's now time to have our dinner and next...it'll be party time!" Dylan announced.

"Yeah! Dance, dance, dance!" Nicole chimed in.

"Yeah!" Everyone shouted in unison.

"I was so touched, Ash," sabi ni Lilian sa kaibigan.

Ashley who was zoning out the whole time was snapped back to really, "Huh?"

"Sabi ko, tingnan mo, Jeryll and Anthony looks cute together, 'di ba? I wish Charles would do that to me too."

"Ah...oo nga," Ashley replied weakly.

"Ash, what's wrong? Okay ka lang ba?"

"Huh? Uh...n-no...kailangan ko nang umuwi. I'm not feeling well."

And with that, Ashley left their table even before Lilian can react.

I'm really not okay.

Ang sakit pala....

Ashley quickly turned her back on the table and saw Anthony looking at her way. She smiled weakly at him and started walking away.

It really hurts...

Her chest felt heavy that it's like she can't breathe anymore...

Her heart is breaking that she can't hear a thing except it...

And unable to contain her emotions, tears rolled down her cheeks. Ayaw niyang nakikita siyang umiiyak ng ibang tao lalo na si Anthony, so she walked faster and faster, that she ended up running.

Ang sakit....

It hurts being just a friend...
