Chapter 7: Going after materials

Ace went searching for quests to do to increase when he found a message saying: Need of materials, well paid quest with good experience. Ace smiled while he looked at it, since he expected something like this but as usual he knew that there would be a catch but he thought that he could take care of it. The message said to find the requester in the inn Golden Soul, an inn of a guild called True Gold, and Ace went there.

In the Golden Soul, Ace found a small bald dwarf with long black beard, black eyes and a scar in the left side of the face, and was wearing a black armor and used a black hammer. Ace went to talk with him.
-Ace: You are the requester?
Ace showed the message.
-Edwin: Yes. My name is Edwin. I want you to go to Virsha cave and obtain some materials for me. I need 30 iron ores, 40 silver ores and 4 Buldin ores.
-Ace: I understand what is iron and silver. But what's Buldin?
-Edwin: It's a real rare material that has properties against magic. It comes from meteorites but I found it in that cave!
-Ace: And what I get?
-Edwin: 30000 gold, 280000 exp for finishing it and a ring.
-Ace: It won't be a blue striker ring?
-Edwin: No. It's a red striker ring.
-Ace: I wanted the cooldown reduction and atk of that ring. But HP regeneration will also work.
-Edwin: Odd. You seem a new player, yet you know that much already...
-Ace: I looked in forums and things like that.
-Edwin: Okay... "Impossible, we had the info well covered about the striker rings... No info trader knew."
Ace left the inn and started going to Vishra cave.

Ace arrived to Vishra cave, it was a great cave and it was really dark to be able to see without a torch for Ace but he found one thrown at the floor.
-Ace: As usual, the game leave things like that on the ground. Well, better for me.
Ace grabbed the torch and ignited it but then he saw a corpse that was rotting.

Ace knew well that it was a draugr, so he did not hesitate and stabbed it.
A critical hit was really a good thing but it only took out 500 hp out with a critical hit plus being an ambush strike which dealt a lot more of damage was a bit too low. Only taking a 10% of the hp of a mob monster with all that was real bad news.
The draugr grabbed its blade and attacked Ace but Ace parried it and pushed the draugr to the ground and stabbed it again, Ace jumped back and did a slash from dextra and another slash from sinistra.
It was going to be hard because he was not dealing a lot of damage. And it was only one monster. And it had not even used an skill. The draugr dashed forward using a skill and then it did a super quick slash that not even Ace could dodge.
Ace trembled and fell to the ground, the pain was great and he could not understand what happened.
But then a bolt hit the head of the draugr and killed it.

A tall and pale Elf with silver hair, white eyes who was wearing thin clothes which were covered in grass and painted green on his body. His boots were thick and resistant to most things he steps on. He also was wearing green gloves which are made from a leather-covered material which allow the user to aim better. On his face he had a red mask which is also covered by a bit of grass. On his back there was a silver crossbow which he has also covered with grass, and at his waist is he had a quiver filled with bolts. 
-???: Seems that you were in a bit of trouble. But that was natural seeing your equipment. Not the best equipment I've seen
-Ace: Thanks. Who are you?
-Mike-Oscar: You may call me Mike-Oscar. And as my name says I should be on the move. One draugr was the most soft thing that you may find here. You were doing a quest right?
-Ace: Yeah, for True Gold. I am Ace by the way.
-Mike-Oscar: Iron, Silver and that meteorite rock. Still, it would be pawsible that we can get them quickly, no?
-Ace: I hope so. Let's work together. I get the ring and I pay you 25000 gold.
-Mike-Oscar: No need. I am also doing the quest, so if we get the double of ores it should be easy.
Mike and Ace started going through the cave and worked together avoiding the monsters while getting iron and silver ores but then they found a pack of 5 hellish hounds together blocking the path to Buldin ores.
-Ace: I can take one head on and kill it quickly. Can you kill two at the same time?
-Mike-Oscar: I could take even 4 of them if you make them attack you. Killing two should be easy.
Ace used Wink and teleported in front of a hound and killed it, but the other 4 attacked him but Mike-Oscar shot a bolt at 2 of them and killed them both hitting their heads. The two others tried to bite Ace but he avoided them with a pirouette and Ace hit them both with a wide slash making them fall back, Mike-Oscar finished with one of them with a bolt and the other one was attacked by Ace and managed to kill it.

Ace found a green and blue ore and looked at it. Ace smiled and looked at Mike-Oscar.
-Ace: I found that Buldin ore.
-Mike-Oscar: Purrfect!
-Ace: You like the puns, huh?
-Mike-Oscar: Of course!
-Ace: I like that. Well, I will get those ores.
Mike-Oscar nodded and got ready to protect Ace while he recollected the ores but he started seeing a lot of hounds and draugr coming and Mike-Oscar got worried.

Ace already had grabbed enough ores and even he took 5 extra ores. But he saw the monsters incoming and started running. There were like 30 or more coming. Ace knew that without a party of 5 that was a crazy idea for both of them because there was not a guardian to cover them but then he remembered one thing that he learned. In a cave there are stalactites and he could use them to cause great damage to a group of enemies. He looked up and saw that the roof of the cave was filled with stalactites and he started charging a Demon Lord Blast and shot it to the stalactites and the stalactites killed many of them and allowed the two adventurers to escape. But that gave a surprise to Ace, a lot of experience and a new partner.

Seems that Ace had a close call but seems that he has gained a lot! But what will happen now!? Who is Mike-Oscar? Why he was there exactly? Stay tuned!
