Chapter 40: The Final Preparation

Ace and the others reunited in the HQ and the mercenaries took out some cylindrical containers.
-Ace: What are these things?
-Phoenix: Smoke bombs.
-Ace: That way we won't be jumping into the city like idiots?
-Harlequin: We will use them as distraction. If Alvyn catches us... I fear we might have a new hole. In our chests.
-Ace: Oh, he won't do anything. He knows that you're working with me. And that means that he knows that you are good as long as you don't try to overuse my contact with him for your own gain.
-Wanderer: Quite the nefarious situation then.
-Harlequin: Better we don't try to push our luck.
Everyone agreed to not be caught or try to fulfill any kind of selfish thing using Ace connections.

But Harlequin and Ace had an idea, they sent a message to Sieg to warn him that his time was up and he needed to pay for his mischief.
The card said this:For your arrogance and your overuse of your standing, we shall steal what you have stolen and give it back to its true owner. Your facade of good boy will be broken and the ugly truth behind it shall be shown to all the world. Ace and the rest of the group called Shadow Smile Thieves.
The idea of that card was to make a hype about the heist so in case that it worked out well, their fame would raise beyond limits. Also Ace wanted to grab the attention of his father and show him that he also could be random.

In the day of the heist, several hours before the hit. Ace and the others entered in the city using the teleport gates and wearing black cloaks and the plan was simple and only needed 3 steps.
First step: Ace, Mike-Oscar and Zarark had to scout out the area and see the guards routes
Second step: Phoenix, Wanderer and Devil had to plant the smoke bombs that would block the vision of the area where the private storages were while Harlequin, Alice and Enforcer delayed the event.
Third step: Ace obtains the prototype and gives it to Harlequin and she flies to a safe place.

Now I will enter full in two teams POV:
One of the two is Ace, Mike-Oscar and Zarark POV and the other is Harlequin POV.
I will follow first Ace, Mike-Oscar and Zarark to the point where Geralt appears. Then I will jump to Harlequin team and then we will follow Ace. A bit crazy but it is how the story happens if we follow it chronologically.

Ace, Mike-Oscar and Zarark POV:

Ace and the others entered in the city as a group of mercenaries paid to go on a quest and that they had to prepare for their quest and to avoid that their fame made the guards go after them and entered into an inn and used a telescope to see where Diane was and kept track of her movements and saw her talking with a man that resembled the description of Geralt and Ace couldn't verify exactly if he was Geralt.
Zarark looked the streets and saw the escape route which was a trail where great concentration of people would pass in the event and there were countless shops where Ace could hide. Mike-Oscar was using his hearing to hear the people talk about the Diamond Wolfves and that they were in Greltiel to help an engineer called Sieg.

After all the spying and preparation, they did a last checkup of their weapons and items.
-Ace: Zarark, we have it ready?
-Zarark: Yes. Weapons ready, escape route checked and we know the guild which will protect our target. We need Mike-Oscar to get moving.
Mike-Oscar got up to go scouting the area using the roofs and scout if the big players of the Diamond Wolfves were going to be there or not.
-Mike-Oscar: Well, I might have to get in a bit of trouble but nothing I cannot shoot out of.
-Ace: Remember that if we mess up, we will be caught. So get the jewel, get out and we return it to its owner. Also take out the bomb that is in it before that rich kid activates it and blows the GMs up.
Mike-Oscar smiled and was confident that he would not be caught and left the inn to scout the situation and see the patrols.

This is a chapter longer than usual but be ready because before I was controlling myself to not do chapters that would leave the chapter in the middle of an important part.

Now all will go as chapter 107 and 108 of Dreamland MMORPG Rising!

And then we reach to the part beyond Rising! Get ready! Finally this story takes off truly!
