Chapter 18: Checking the rewards!

Ace and his team went out of Bradtiel and waited for Harlequin to find them. After 10 minutes, Harlequin arrived.
-Ace: Harlequin. Do you have any place where we can stay to share the reward?
-Harlequin: Of course! It is an abandoned house and people say that it is haunted but I went to it and it was only a parasite filled house. I had to pay 3000 gold to get it clean.
-Ace: Show us the way.
Harlequin and the others went inside the forest and arrived to a river that had in the left side a house that needed a lot of time to make it look pretty.

The house was made of wood that now was rotten and if someone has to say something good about it, there would be no answer. The wood was falling, the door was creaking, the second floor literally had fallen and crushed the first floor, there were a few holes in the roof, and in the house there was a table made of iron and four iron chairs that seemed new.
-Ace: Nice… hideout. Literally no man on earth would enter there.
-Harlequin: Coward. I hide here when things go south.
-Ace: Well… Maybe it is a good idea. Still, the heist is over and we will share our gains and then it shall be where we part ways.
-Zarark: You worked this hard for a single heist?
-Alice: It has been good!
-Mike-Oscar, Phoenix and Devil: We even made a name for the team.
-Wanderer: Hey! I was almost of no use. Why you call me if you don't want to have me working!?
-Enforcer: I want a better chance to shine.
-Harlequin: And this info is a bit way too interesting to back out now!
-Ace: You all want to keep going? If you do, it may be a one go ticket to Hell.
-Devil: When there is so much coin shining, a mercenary won't back down.
-Ace: (Sighs) I really warned you. But if this is what you want… We need a base! And not a rotten house!
-Wanderer: I can work on it!
-Alice: And I can cook!
-Enforcer: I can heal the people who are damaged.
-Ace: You big idiots. Still you are stylish idiots. Well, let's give you all your rewards.
Ace took out a big bag of coins and put in 9 smaller bags that contained all of them 1 million gold coins and gave one bag to each member of the team.

Everyone looked at Ace surprised. He had shared around 9 millions with no tricks and he seemed happy. No one expected to gain this much.
-Ace: Take out the statues. They might have a good surprise inside.
Everyone made sure that all the statues were taken out. There were 8 statues and only 4 were empty in the inside, the others were just normal golden statues.
Ace found a lock in the empty statues and broke it with a strong slash. Then he could open the statues and found a lot of things.

He found a pair of dresses that were enchanted to give a lot of resistance to attacks and to repair themselves. Close to them, he found matching heels and looked surprised.
One was a long red dress that was really tight and had a cut that allowed the user to show a leg and had a pair of red heels to match with it. It reminded him of a chinese dress that Cheng used when she was helping him with the studies and quickly left it before he destroyed it.
The other one was a white long dress with a pair of white heels that was only a bit tight, just the enough to make it look well-designed. It was a really good dress to gift. Harlequin started smiling and decided that her part of the statues reward would be the red dress.
-Harlequin: Can I keep the red dress? I won't ask for anything more of the statues.
-Ace: For me, I don't care even if you burn it.
-Alice: Why you don't like that dress?
-Ace: Reminds me of Cheng’s dress. (Red faced) Damn it all.
-Alice: Seems a bad memory.
-Ace: More like a memory of she challenging me to lose my cool. She always tried to see in me any reaction that any teenager would have.
-Alice: Either way I prefer the white one. I do not like that people look at me with that scary face…
Ace, Zarark and Devil blushed when they saw the innocence of Alice.
-Ace, Zarark and Devil: “Too cute. Damn too cute!”
Ace checked the second statue.

In the second statue he found two boxes with 10 pairs of earrings with mana crystals and seemed enchanted to increase the mana of the user and lower the cooldown of the skills. Everyone decided to give a pair to Harlequin and Alice. Also Ace found a ring that he would recognize everywhere and grabbed it. It was a ring with a ruby on it and with an enchant that made it regenerate the HP faster.
-Ace: Red Striker Ring! I found it!
-Zarark: You want it so much?
-Ace: Oh man. Do you have any kind of idea of how valuable this is!? Literally with it I can regenerate health without any kind of trouble, even if I get poisoned!
-Zarark: Seems good for a frontline fighter.
-Ace: It is! Let's see the third statue.
Ace checked the third statue and found an strange amulet. It had the face of an imp and seemed odd. But when Ace touched it, he felt like he was being eaten by the Darkness that he had and quickly threw it but Alice grabbed it.
-Alice: An imp amulet. I think that we should sell it. It improves the power of the Darkness. But you can be devoured by it…
-Ace: It does not that! Directly it gives Darkness!
-Alice: So I should gain Darkness with it? I really don't like it!
-Ace: “And that does not end it. It is an F class item because it causes that the user loses any kind of restraint. Worse than Scalia’s side effect!”
Ace wanted to open the last statue but then he heard a scream. Everyone took out their weapons and got ready to fight.
