I tapped my foot on the floor impatiently. The school day seemed to drag on at the slowest pace. Each hour was the same boring lecture about different subjects that I didn't particularly care for. All I could think about was Sodapop, even the mention of his name brought a smile to my lips and distracted me from my school work. I stared off into space thinking about Sodapop and our conversation from last night.

"Kathryn," my math teacher, who only knew how to talk in a monotone voice, said.

I was broken out of my trans and became alert, "yes sir," I responded.

"Do you know the answer?" He said, muttering a curse word or two about Greasers under his breath.

"Was I raising my hand?" I said batting my eyelashes to seem more innocent.

He rolled his eyes and turned back to the board, unfortunately carrying on with his dreadfully boring lesson.

The bell rang after what seemed to be an eternity. There was no way I was going to science today. I decided to just ditch class and head to the DX early so I could see Sodapop.

I was there sooner than I expected, now that I was out of my classes time seemed to go by faster.

When I entered the DX I instantly saw Steve working the counter. I gave him a big, goofy, grin, "what's up Randall?"

"Not much little Soc, but last time I checked school doesn't let out for another hour," he said narrowing his eyes at me.

"Hm well they must have changed the rules from the last time you checked," I said shrugging.

He rolled his eyes, "Sodapop is out back working on a car."

"Thanks!" I said while skipping out the back door and into the garage.

I saw Sodapop and instantly a smile played on my lips. His muscles were toned and he was glistening from sweat, to say the least he looks good.

"Hey Pepsi-cola!" I said.

"Oh hey Katy!" Soda exclaimed, his movie star grin appeared on his face.

"What are you working on?" I questioned.

"Just this old car," he said and his eyes lit up, "want to learn how to fix a car?" There was an excited glint in his eye, as cars were his passion. I smiled, he wanted to share that passion with me.

"Of course!"

We worked on the car together for hours, Sodapop did most of the work but I tried to help to the best of my ability. We finally finished it, loosing track of time.

"Thanks for helping me out Katy," Sodapop said, smiling sheepishly.

"No problem," I responded, returning a grin.

"So I was uh... I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date tonight?" Sodapop said. His voice sounded nervous and he played with his fingers while awaiting my response.

"Well I'll have to check my schedule," I said teasing him. After a second of pretending to think about my schedule I grinned, "looks like I'm free!"

Sodapop smiled like the Cheshire Cat, I guess I was too. We walked back to the Curtis household, hand-in-hand.

I finished applying my makeup, some light foundation, winged eyeliner, mascara, eyebrows filled in, and a matt, nude lipstick, and moved onto my hair. I simply made my long blonde locks wavy and began to plan my outfit. I chose a pair of ripped blue jeans, a plain black t-shirt, and some chucks. I walked out of the room and met Soda's gaze. I sheepishly smiled as he looked me up and down, my look wasn't really anything special.

Soda was dressed as per usual, his signature flannel and some regular jeans, no one could pull off his look quite like him.

We walked out of the house hand in hand.

"Sodapop, where are we going?" I giggled.

"It's a surprise," he smirked.

"Oh but I hate surprises! With a passion!" I whined, "just tell me."

"But that would ruin the point of a surprise!" Sodapop remarked.

I rolled my eyes and just let it go even though surprises were one of my least favorite things in the world.

After walking for a while we arrived at a rooftop of some abandoned building. A picnic was set up, candles and everything. Even though Sodapop might not show it, he's a true helpless romantic at heart and just that fact made my heart swell with joy.

"You sure know the way to a girl's heart, food!" I said cheerfully.

Sodapop chuckled, it was music to my ears. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's dig in!"

"Bon appetite," I said and began to eat the wonderful dinner Sodapop had given us, I highly doubt he made it himself.

After dinner was finished Soda and I watched the stars dance in the night sky, it was truly beautiful. I swung my legs back and forth, we sat on the edge of the building, our legs obviously dangling over the edge.We held hands and I layed my head against his shoulder, talking about every topic we could come up with. A cool wind made my cheeks burn, ok maybe my cheeks burning had to do with Soda's compliments, and I shuddered. Sodapop, being the gent he is, took notice and gave me his flannel. I gratefully accepted his offer and wrapped his flannel around my shoulders, taking in his scent.

"This is perfect," I murdered.

Sodapop nodded his head and turn to face me, sitting cross legged, "you know what would make it even more perfect?" He said barely in a whisper. I cocked my head to the side, my breath hitching. "Kathryn, will you be my girlfriend?"

What a trash chapter, I'm so so sorry this was just a filler. More juiciness coming up y'all. Thanks for reading!
