❝LET'S GO JAMES,❞ Natalia said almost yelling over the blaring music that was being played.James playfully shook his head at her and laughed, almost falling in the process. He slowly walked over to Natalia placing a sloppy kiss on her cheek before hugging her smaller body. "You look so beautiful tonight," he slurred. "Not that you don't look beautiful all the time because, you always look beautiful," he added with a lazy smile on his lips.
Her heart fluttered at what he told her. "You're really drunk James, lets get you home."
James had ended up drinking way too much and now he was extremely drunk, and when he drinks he would usually get very clingy and affectionate. Even though he was drunk, he still remembered that Natalia and him weren't together; which meant he would be even more clingy with Natalia since he could easily blame the alcohol for his actions.
"Fine babe," he said finally agreeing to letting Natalia take him home. He wrapped his arms around her, knowing that he would possibly end up falling at one point if he would try to walk on his own.
Natalia helped him get into her car, putting his seatbelt on for him, and he couldn't help smile. Taking care of a very intoxicated James was not what she was planning to do with her Saturday night. She got into her seat and drove off, heading to James' house, which was still the same house he had bought when he first arrived in Madrid.
The drive to his house had consisted of him singing along to random songs that would come on and taking about random things that had happened on Thursday during practice.
"Come on James," she sighed as she helped a very, very drunk and smiley James out of her car.
"No, I want food right now," he exclaimed, knowing that with the beautiful smile of his he could get away with probably anything.
Natalia shook her head and checked her phone. "Its almost midnight James! You need to sleep and you still have a game tomorrow."
He knew it was stupid to get really drunk the night before a match, but at the moment he didn't really care as much. James scrunched his face in displeasure, "Stop yelling Marcelo!"
Natalia laughed when James had called her Marcelo. She didn't know if James had completely forgotten who had taken him home or if he was just playing with her. But it was strange since he had called her babe just a while ago. James was indeed very drunk that he hadn't even realized who had taken him home.
She helped him out of her car and walked him to the front door. James had somehow convinced Natalia that he didn't need any help getting inside, but as soon as he entered his house he ended up tripping on some shoes by the door and falling on his face. Natalia snorted as he saw him on the floor groaning, not making an attempt at getting up When Natalia had finally stopped laughing, she helped him get up and took him to his bedroom.
Entering his house and going into his bedroom, would have been much more awkward if James had been sober, but she couldn't help but love the drunk version of James. After she had given James medicine and big glass of water, the he refused to drink but he did anyway, she hoped that it would help his hungover the next morning.
"Did you know that I know the Cristiano Ronaldo, I even play along him at Real Madrid. Life is great," he sighed with a smile, as she helped him get into his bed so he would hopefully fall asleep.
Natalia nodded, "I already knew that."
James turned over to look at her with a confused face, "How do you know? Are you following me?" He asked with a very confused look.
She laughed once again, probably the millionth time this night. Natalia shook her head and let out another laugh, "You play for Real Madrid, who wouldn't know that you play with Cristiano. And its me Natalia, James."
James stared at her for a few seconds in confusion, until it hit him and he realized that the girl who was in his room was Natalia, "Oh," he mumbled.
He blushed at the previous events that had happened, confusing her with Marcelo somehow, even though they looked nothing alike, and falling flat on his face. Feeling embarrassed was an understatement. He had pretty much made a fool out of himself in front of her. He couldn't help but cringe about the other stupid things he had done before letting Natalia take him home.
James wasn't as drunk as before anymore, definitely not completely sober but he had some control of his actions and whatever he would said. He rubbed his face and sighed, "I'm sorry that I made you leave the party just so you could take me home, but thank you for taking care of me. I honestly would've ended up doing something really stupid."
She smiled at him and sat on the bed, next to him. "It's okay, plus I was going to end up going home at one point."
The feeling of being so close to him, in the same room in which they would spend morning mornings sleeping usually and or cuddling at night when it was cold made her feel all giddy inside. For a second she felt like everything was perfect, like they were still together, as if this is how everything would've been if they were still together.
They sat there in a peaceful silence for some time until James spoke, "Do you ever think about how everything would've been if I would've never said everything I said that night. It was all my fault that we-"
"It wasn't your fault," Natalia interrupted. "It doesn't matter anymore James," she added, hoping he would just drop the conversation and fall a sleep.
"It does matter, Nata," he sighed. "It was all my fault that I ruined us. I didn't just ruin our relationship, but I also ruined our friendship. I hurt you. I promised I never would and I did, and I hate myself for that. I made you want to leave me, all because I wasn't thinking and I was just stupid."
"Natalia, I ruined whatever we could've been in the future. The fact that I still love you, that I never stopped loving you hurts because, you've probably moved on and I'm still here feeling like the same fifteen year old kid who fell in love with a the most beautiful girl he had ever seen."
In that moment, her heart was beating out of her chest, she felt a lump form in her throat and her eyes watered. She didn't know what to tell him, her mind had went blank. She sat there staring at her hands, not daring to look at James.
Natalia still loved him. She had never moved on, no matter how many times she had told herself that she had moved on.
"It was hard to leave Madrid knowing that you were staying here with a broken heart, that I had been the one who hurt your heart. You may never love me again, but I do love you and I always will. Natalia, I love you," he exclaimed.
"James you're drunk, you don't know what you're saying," she said.
James shook his head, "You more than anyone knows that when I'm drunk I say what's on my mind. I tell the truth, Natalia."
Natalia knew it was stupid to use the 'you're drunk' excuse to try and avoid James. Drunk talk were always sober thoughts, and everything that James had said all came from the heart.
"I still love you and I always will, Natalia."
