SHORT IMAGINE → Today is something that you had never expected in a million years—your baby shower. Since the child wasn't planned, both you and the father have tried to build a relationship of some sorts. However, you're beginning to feel trapped into motherhood as well as being something like a housewife.
You're used to attending parties, and kissing random strangers just for the thrill of it. Not staying at home watching your baby bump get bigger and bigger by the day.
However today is the first day where you get to meet Dan's closest friends, so you don't really know anyone here apart from your child's father and a few of your friends and family.
"Are you okay?" dan asks putting his hand on your back, of which you don't like but you don't have the heart to tell him.
Not really wanting to talk, you nod your head a little whilst feeling unsure of this whole thing. I should introduce you to some of my friends...they're all want to meet you" Dan smiles, completely unaware with how you're feeling towards the whole pregnancy. Once again, you nod your head after seeing how happy he is. You can't do anything other than oblige, after all you don't want to ruin the baby shower for him—since it's his baby after all.
Dan then calls over two of his closest female friends who both he met during their university years, their names are Sophie and Kate. They seem surprisingly nice for two posh girls. So you continue to be be polite by faking smile whilst introduce yourself.
"Dan's been talking so much about you and little blue..." Sophie does the thing that you hate the most—she holds your baby bump.
"You guys don't mind if I kidnap your son every now and again for movie nights? There's so many Disney films that I want to watch that come across as boyish...but now I have a little excuse!" All three of them laugh, including Dan who cradles the side of your bump.
"I'm sure he'll love going to the cinema with you, Kate. When he's a little older we can rent out the roofless cinema and have a party or whatever." Dan's been over the moon about your pregnancy. He was giving up hope on starting a family before he turns thirty-five, and now he has two years to spare with his son.
Since there's nothing to want to say, you fake another smile whilst tightly holding a glass of water.
"How many kids do you both want, surely the little guy isn't going to be an only child?" That's when you excuse yourself from the conversation, although the others don't seem to care. They're too invested in the idea of bringing more babies into the world.
While you walk through the garden you look around for somebody you know—luckily that 'somebody' is Kyle Simmons. You've somehow known Kyle since you was kids in primary school, and it's the only reason why Kyle is here other than being Dan's band member.
"Hey Y/N, what's up?" Kyle notices straight away that you're not looking too good. Although everyone else has turned a blind eye, you do look a little hazy and slightly paler than usual.
"I didn't want this," you whisper whilst looking in Dan's direction, while he laughs and jokes about with his mates.
"I don't understand...what do you mean?" Kyle asks pointing at you.
"I don't want this stupid baby shower...random people holding my stomach...Dan..." you know that you're going to regret your words but you can't hold it in any longer...
"I don't the baby."
