ONE-SHOT → "Home sweet home!" Dan proudly announces the very second he steps into the doorway.
Both Dan and his wife, Ella, have spent the past two days at hospital. Luckily enough, they're finally home. Gripped in Dan's hand is a black car seat that he carefully holds, and inside of the car seat is the tiny reason why they've been at the hospital...
Ella follows behind Dan after she shuts and locks the door. Every now and again she tiredly yawns, still clearly worn out from the recent events. Dan, however, is too excited to notice her tiredness.
He wants to show his newborn daughter her home.
"This here is the hallway...when you get older I'll hang all your artwork up here." Dan then cradles the car seat while he smiles manically at his little girl.
Her skin is pale pink, and since her facial expressions are loose so she looks fairly miserable all the time. Although she isn't. The sight of his daughter makes Dan feel excited, giddy, and nervous to be her father. He loves her though. He'll do anything for her.
"Wait even better, have you seen your reflection yet? Look here's a scary thing called the mirror. Ugly bastards like me try to avoid it-yes I do. But you're gonna love it because you're incredible and beautiful." Ella leans against the wall and smiles at Dan doing all the things that she wanted to do. She can't be mad though—Dan's suddenly became a hundred times more attractive being a family man.
Their baby, who can barely open up her blue eyes, wants to cry. Although, the light familiar voice of her father prevents her from doing so.
Dan then turns the car seat around in front of the mirror and taps it, trying to grab her attention.
"She's tired, baby." Ella finally whispers in her thick American accent, although Dan continues to tap the mirror in hopes to get his daughter's attention. He has a whole speech planned out in his creative mind.
The speech of which includes a few empowering words such as: 'fierce', 'remarkable', 'intelligent', 'queen', 'beautiful', 'kind', 'leader', and 'badass'. Dan's male feminist side has gone into meltdown ever since he found out her gender, and he won't stop hyping up the leading ladies of his life.
"I got carried away again, didn't I?" Dan helplessly smiles while he settles the car seat down on the side table, and takes his daughter out of it. Like a little kola, she matches himself to him.
"Yeah..."—Ella's warm voice trails off while she stands with her arms akimbo—"I kinda haven't held her since this morning." Feeling guilty, Dan carefully holds his daughter outwards recreating the first scene from The Lion King.
"Oh my god...careful...she's not a rag doll" Ella happily laughs while she takes her daughter off of Dan, before cradling her small warm body in her loving arms.
Immediately, Ella rubs her nose against her daughters before trying not to cry. She's so overwhelmed with different emotions...of which her hormones don't help.
"Hey..." Dan whispers realising that she's crying.
"It's okay," Dan hugs Ella loosely while leaving a slim gap between his and his daughters small body.
"I'm so 'uckin happy," Ella whispers while Dan cracks a smile, embracing his wife. M
"I'm so proud of you." He meaningfully whispers whilst pulling his body away, before planting a sweet kiss on the side of her cheek.
"I still can't believe that our trip to Broadway had the prettiest of outcomes." Ella whispers while she brushes her finger against her daughters cheek.
"I'm so glad that we missed that show you wanted to see."
"Amen, bro." Ella laughs whilst Dan kisses her on the cheek again.
