SHORT IMAGINE → You're doing your weekly shop, although you're over due on it. Whilst filling up the trolley with goodies you go to the DVD section of the supermarket. Sure, the selection choice is filled with boring Hollywood war films or period drama crap...and it has nothing on HMV, but you spot a film that got recommended to you by a friend. As soon as you pick the case up to look at the back your eyebrows raise. It's a cheap comedy by the looks of it, with what you learned at film school then you know that they're a waste of money no matter what random a-list celebrity is in it.
You put the box down and sigh. While you do so a guy standing besides you taps a dvd box that you've completely missed. "Huh?" You look at the fairly handsome blue eyes guy in confusion.
"Oh..." he nervously laughs slightly leaning forward while doing so. He looks cute when he does that, because he genuinely looks happy.
"Sorry...I probably look like a right weirdo right now. I'm just saying if you want to watch a good film then I highly recommend this one." Dan taps on the case again, the film's called 'ex machina' and you've already seen it, in fact a handful of times.
You nod my head pointing to the box. "That ending though..." that's when he looks at you totally surprised. Not many people nowadays normally want to watch Oscar winning robot flicks.
"I know right. I would never of predicted it in a million of years, it's the main reason why I love it," both you and the kind stranger awkwardly stand opposite each other.
Your eyes flick to the DVD section and point towards the TV series section. You have two options, a whole shelf full of 'The A-Team' or Mr. Robot.
"Have you seen Mr. Robot?" You ask as he nods his head shyly smiling.
"I mean the third season I was on tour so I couldn't really finish it. But what I saw was completely fucking mind blowing as ever!" He shouts in excitement as the older people around your both give scolding looks.
Dan then nervously looks downwards at the floor. "Oh man...it was great. The only films I actually care about nowadays are the A24 movies." You know that everybody loves at least one A24 film.
"Indies...love or hate them. The new horror film looks fucking unbelievable. Me and my mates are all gonna go to the rooftop secret cinema and watch it." You helplessly point at him in agreement.
"Do you mind if i join?" You awkwardly laugh like it's a joke...but you don't want it to be.
But then Dan sincerely nods his head which leaves you totally surprised, "seriously? Like I could be a twisted psycho clown in disguise." Dan shrugs his shoulders backwards.
"I ain't got nothing much to lose anyways." You smile at Dan before shyly looking away.
"I don't think that's true. You have all of these films...and the hope to continue Mr. Robot!" With that Dan smiles along, he can't help it. According to him you look 'cute' when you throw open your arms and wave them towards the DVD sections
"I'm being serious, let's go and watch that A24 flick. What's your number or do you have...WhatsApp?" With that you blush before drawing out your phone.
You have no idea who this man is, but you think you might've stumbled across your fucking soul mate!
