The Crystal Gems found that all the Warp Pads to Europe were useless, this because to Asfur Shaytan and the Hydra forces that took some from the Warp Pads to make their own portal. So, the Crystal Gems tried to go to Europe via self-made ships, but, since Asfur Shaytan predicted all their tries, the Crystal Gems, as soon as they landed to Europe to rescue the Corrupted Gems, their were overcome by the Hydra forces. Also, all the intents of Rose Quartz to capture the leaders of the Axis were frustated by the Hydra forces, prevented by Asfur Shaytan. Impotents, the Crystal Gems watched how the hate and the destruction of the Third Reich and their allies were crossing not only Europe, but also Africa and Asia as well, because the territories of the nations of the war also became battlefields.
