Chapter 6
Marc
I am such a moron. A complete, total, moron. I'm an idiot. Why is it that my mind went completely blank when I began talking to her? Ugh! What's up with your face? Yea, that was the greatest line in history.
You blew it.
'Don't even start with me.'
And you call yourself a man.
'Do us both a favor and shut up.'
How can you stand looking at yourself in the mirror every morning?
'Leave me alone!'
"Better luck next time, man!" I heard Saxon yell down the street. That only increased my anger and I got on my board, riding into the direction of the beach. If Saxon cared he didn't follow. If he had followed, I probably would've yelled at him anyways. When I made it to the beach, I kicked up the tail of my board so the nose rose in the air. I grabbed it and stalked down the bike path, hissing the air through my clenched teeth to calm me down. An older couple swerved away from me as I thundered down the hill. I'm sure I looked murderous. I felt murderous. I wanted to strangle myself. Why was I so stupid?
She was hurt.
'I know.'
On her forehead.
'I know.'
We felt it.
'I know!'
You have no idea how to sweet talk.
'I kno- wait! Shut up! Leave me alone!' I roared at my wolf. He didn't back down.
If I was the mouth in this arrangement, I would've said how pretty she looked.
I didn't respond.
I would've asked her what had happened, and if she had slammed the door I would've gone after her.
'What if she asked you why you cared so much?' I asked pointedly.
I'd kiss her and ask if that explained everything.
'That's asking for a slap in the face.'
You’re a slap in the face.
'Your momma's a slap in the face!'
That makes no sense.
'You make no sense….'
We need to boost your ego. You're normally so much more fun to fight with.
'Leave me alone.'
I wish.
"Yo, Czarnecki!" I heard someone yell my last name. I turned to see Jeff Diggers, Roy Gables, and Liza Ruezecki walking towards me with grins etched on their faces. All three of them were in my pack, and all three went to my school. Jeff was in my grade as was Liza, while Roy was ahead of us by a year. Liza was actually my cousin and one of the 'Goths' to the humans at school. Her hair was black with blue streaks, and her eyes were outlined in black eyeliner. She happened to be one of the only werewolves who wore make-up, but she didn't care. She was what she liked to call 'backwards' in both the human and werewolf worlds.
Maybe some time with my pack would get Dakoda off my mind.
"I just can't get rid of you guys. You're at my family holiday parties, you live in my neighborhood, and you go to my school, now I see you here? You're all starting to freak me out." I called back. Liza snickered and Jeff snorted.
