Hey everybody! I seriously love you guys for sticking with me throughout the whole book! Tomorrow is my LAST update day, and today is my last full update day (meaning 2 updates) Story is almost over! Thanks all for the comments, votes, fans, and addition to libraries!

Now, I'm not sure what it is about this chapter, but I really don't like the first part, although the second part I do... it just feels... incomplete? I'll figure it out eventually.

Please enjoy the chapter!

Chapter 37

Marc

The second the line went dead, I took off running down the street, Saxon following in my steps. My legs were pumping faster than I had ever run before, adrenaline whooshing through my veins. Dakoda was in danger. She was stupidly throwing herself into the danger. There was another loud scream, and I ran even faster, pushing myself past a limit I didn’t know existed. My breath had practically stopped; my wolf was growling and snarling in a circle, pacing my mind with bared fangs. Practically flying onto Piper’s porch I threw myself into the open doorway, running upstairs as I followed Dakoda’s scent.

“You killed her!” Someone yelled, astonishment leaking into their tone.

Dakoda.

“I’ll kill you too little wolf.” Someone else growled harshly.

Alpha.

I threw myself at the bedroom door, opening it without hesitation. Intrusion didn’t particularly matter to me right now.

Saxon was still at the top of the steps, not fueled by desperation like I was. Dakoda was growling at the man who stood over the form a girl.

Piper. Covered in blood and gore, tears still running down her face from her lifeless, blank blue eyes.

“Don’t touch her.” I snarled, grabbing Dakoda’s arm and jerking her backwards so she was behind me. She let out a surprise gasp, but didn’t move from behind my protective stance. The alpha’s cold, gray-green eyes seemed to flicker in some surprise.

“That’s your mate?” He asked me. I didn’t respond, my eyes burning in a hatred that ran deeper than the blood in my veins. He chuckled, gesturing a blood covered hand at the girl who lay dead on the bed. “Then who did I just kill?” His lips curled into a sadistic sneer. Dakoda’s breath caught and she jumped forwards, snarling in fury, but I grabbed her arm, jerking her back again. My father just let out another spill of malicious laughter. “So I take it you know her? ...Well, knew her.” Dakoda snarled again, hands shaking, multiplying my own trembling limbs. Sirens sounded in the distance and my dad cast us a wicked grin.

“Oh well, there’s always later to get the right girl.” He sighed, than he crashed out of the window, glass breaking and falling to the ground below as my dad made his escape.

“Let’s go.” I grabbed Dakoda’s arm, dragging her back downstairs. We went to the back door, and using my shirt, I opened the door knob, closing it. Even I wasn’t stupid enough to leave fingerprints at a crime scene. “We’ll have to jump the fence.” The sirens were growing louder. Dakoda’s eyes widened.

            “Your skateboard!” She hissed.

“What about it?!” She tore away from me, back down the driveway. “Dakoda, no!” I whisper yelled. She picked up the skateboard that lay abandoned on the driveway. Sirens were peeling my ear drums now, as they turned the corner to our street. She grabbed the board, pelting back to Saxon and I.
