Chapter 33

Marc

“Uhm. Scrambled?” The words spluttered from my mouth at the question.

‘Who is she, and what has happened to Dakoda?’ I groaned into my head.

I kind of like her this way, my wolf snorted, barking in laughter.

There was a possibility I had heard Tammy and Liza talking about Dakoda’s plan... there is another possibility, sleeping in the same bed as her, was a way to try and get Dakoda back. Last night, what she had done –what she had been wearing- well that had been downright cruel. I was going to play back, as bad as I could get. Dakoda could try however much she wanted to resist me, but her wolf on the other hand... Well, it shouldn’t be too difficult to try and persuade her.

We’re only maniacal geniuses.

“Good, I don’t cook sunny-side up.” She nodded, standing up; I watched her dust off herself, from when she had fallen.

“What’s that supposed mean?” Was there some hidden meaning in her words? She watched me for a moment longer, as if she was contemplating something.

“It means I don’t know how too.” She murmured just before she changed the subject. “Now get a shirt before my eyes burn out of their sockets.” Dakoda ordered, lips twitching at the corners. Standing, while smirking, I snorted.

“I’ll put on a shirt, when you put on some pants.” Making a show of checking out her still, highly short shorts, I smirked. Her cheeks tinted pink, and she mumbled,

“Yea, whatever.” It was nice to finally have a ‘Dakoda’ response back.

What happened to the soft-spoken, quiet girl I had come to know?

Going to my cherry-wood dresser, I dug through the drawers until finding a shirt to wear. Slipping it over my head, I looked back to Dakoda who was digging through her pile of clothes in the corner, frowning to herself.

“What’s wrong?” My question caused her to turn, while she just shrugged at me.

“Nothing.” She was still frowning, looking past pairs of jeans and her sweater. Where were all her shirts? Liza must not have grabbed any...

            “Need help?”

“No.” She responded before I had even finished saying my whole sentence. What was she looking for?

Pants you idiot.

‘Oh. Right.’

Wincing, while turning back to my dresser, I opened up the correct drawer, pulling out a pair of my sweatpants and throwing them at Dakoda. They hit her in the head, causing her to jump. She glared at the offending item, turning back to me with a partially indignant, partially confused look to her face.

“Use a pair of mine.” I shrugged. “Come on, I want some eggs.” I grinned at her, while she just frowned again. Then she pulled the sweatpants on over her shorts, causing me to let out a sigh of relief. At the action, she looked up to me, a slight smirk on her features, but her eyes held some surprise.
