Bambi POV
I exhaled slowly as I made my way up to the stage, which sat right at ure center of the first floor in the club. The pink spotlight saturated the pink curtains. I shook my head getting rid of any negative thoughts. This performance was either going to make or break me. I knew that I had to wing it out there. The intercom of the club came on making me lose my train of thought.
"Alright calm down. We have some fresh meat coming to the stage. So welcome Profit." The Dj announced and I took a breath before slightly smirking, coming from behind the curtain. I slowly, but nervously, walked up to the thick brass pole, resting my right hand on it. I propped my leg up and poked my butt out waiting for the music to start.
My favorite song Thirsty by PARTYNEXTDOOR came on. I knew the beat perfectly and started climbing up the pole. I made sure my feet were perfectly spread on the ceiling and held the pole as I dropped down and flipped my body backwards landing into a full split. I saw money being thrown from the corner of my eye, but I ignored it as I kept dancing.
When the song finally came to an end I looked down at all the money at my feet. I looked out into the crowd and saw men and a few women sending lustful glares my way. When I turned to look away I seen Alex in the corner sucking half of his bottom lip. He licked his lips as I averted my gaze from him to the security guard, who was helping me pick up the money. I later figured out that his name was Randy.
I grabbed my duffle bag, thanking Randy and made my way back to Wynter's office. I knocked on the door and he slowly opened it. I walked in and sat the bag down on his table. He eyed the bag and raised his eyebrows. He opened the bag and looked inside. He pulled out a handful of money and chuckled, looking back at me. I sat back in the comfortable leather chair.
"Malaya was right." He said.
A knock on the door made my head snap in it's direction. Before he got a chance to get up, the door was already opening. I waited to see who it was and Alex was coming in. He looked down and stared at me in amazement. Wynter looked up at him and nodded for him to do whatever it was he came in for.
" She did her thing out there. Niggas out there already asking for dances," He said and took one more glance at me.
"I know, do you see all the money sitting on my desk." He asked rhetorically.
"Yeah I seen it," He replied back nonchalantly. I sat down and waited until their conversation was finished.
"Alright well I'm about to go home in a few," Alex said and Wynter nodded.
"Do you still want me to take you home?" He asked, and I nodded slightly smiling.
"Okay well go ahead and get your things and meet me back in here when you finished," He said, and I nodded my head softly standing up to go back into the dressing room. Wynter passed me the duffel bag after getting his portion out. I felt Alex's eyes on me as I walked out of the room.
I hurriedly rushed to where my clothes were sitting my stuff down and changed out of the skimpy outfit I had on. I grabbed a wipe off of the stand and swiped across my face and eyelids getting the makeup off of my face. I bent down to grab my bag when I felt a smack to my butt. I quickly picked my head up and saw Malaya behind me smirking. I sighed with relief and continued getting my things together.
"You did a good job out there girl," She said. I smiled and nodded at her.
"Thanks for everything", I said and she smiled back at me. I knitted my eyebrows together as she intensely stared at me
"Are you okay?" I asked her. She nodded and smiled slowly.
"I'm fine, believe me," She said laughing. I nodded in understanding.
"Well I have to go, my rides waiting," I said.
"Ride?" She repeated. I nodded and looked down at my feet.
"Yeah. I'm sorry I have to go, but thanks for everything," I said walking out of the room and back to Wynter's office. I opened the door and walked in. Alex looked up from his phone and got up. He reached into his pocket getting his keys and walked out of Wynter's office. I held my duffel bag tight against my arm, not letting go which is a very strange habit of mine, and followed Alex to his car.
I got in the car, and waited as somebody held his time for a quick moment on the phone. I heard the door shut and looked at Alex sitting in the driver's seat starting the car. I sighed and looked down at my lap waiting to arrive back at the condo. Our ride back was short. He drove fast and looked kind of irritated. He swerved out of different lanes until he made a sharp stop at the condominium.
He got out of the car and I followed as we rode the elevator up to the seventh floor. When the elevator stopped, he rushed to the door grabbing the key out of his pocket. He unlocked the door and walked back to the bedroom and later came out with my luggage case. I looked at him and he started heading towards the door.
"What's going on?" I asked him as we made our way back down the elevator. He sighed and bit his lip as the elevator opened. I followed him back to the car and he got in and pulled off going down the street. I silenced myself and played with my stomach. I can't believe I'm carrying a baby. I felt the car getting slower and saw that we were pulling up at a two story creme and brick house.
He got out of the car and grabbed my luggage, then grabbed my hand pulling me to the house. He pulled a key from his pocket and unlocked the door. I hesitantly followed him to a bedroom with a king sized bed. I looked at him as he sat my luggage case inside of the walk in closet.
"We were being followed." He said simply. I still didn't understand. I'm sure it was highly noticeable.
"You're going to have to stay here for a while."
