Bambi POV

I sat in fourth hour; World History listening to Mrs.Wagner go on about Egyptian Civilization and roam from the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms to Pharaohs and the process of Mummification. I watched as the clock slowly rolled by. Tic-Toc, back and forth until it got to 12:15. I exited the very busy classroom and walked outside and around campus. I pulled my Lipton sweet tea from my bag taking slow, sweet sips. It complimented the warm weather outside.

I walked past a couple who were hugged up walking together. I couldn't help but smile. I thought it was sweet how someone could devote their time and dedication to another person. I walked up the stairs and got three dollars out of my pocket. I got a bag of honey barbecue twists and a cheese danish. I walked back outside and sat down at an empty table unclear of everyone else.

I was staring up at the sky wondering what my dad is like. Maybe he's a paramedic, an artist, a psychologist, a basketball player, well maybe not that one but you wouldn't know. Maybe he's a movie man, a teacher, a motivational speaker. I guess I'll just have to keep dreaming until I find a way to actually meet up with him. I opened my chips and sat in peace and quiet while watching the clouds transition into different places. Maybe my father's dead. I sigh and frown in utter disappointment.

"Why is such a beautiful lady like yourself frowning on a nice day like this?" He asked startling me. I looked up and stared at him. His green eyes pleading with trouble. I just sighed and looked back down clutching my bag even closer to me. I felt him still standing right above me. I wouldn't look up I couldn't look up. I was stuck in place. He knew exactly what he was doing.

"Are you okay beautiful?" He asked and sat down next to me. I blushed a little. Nobody has ever called me that before. I smiled a little bit and looked up at him. He stared at me and smiled. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I took another sip of my tea and felt him rub my thigh. I looked down at his hand and he rubbed my leg going higher with each stroke. I gently pushed his hand off of my lap and stared back down.

"I'm sorry," He trailed off.

"Bambi, my name is Bambi," I told him playing with the loose strings on my bag.

He nodded as I continued to proceed with my lunch. He decided to stay with me until his next class started.

"Do you wanna go out sometime?" He questioned staring into my eyes with his eyebrows raised in anxiousness. I didn't know if I should even be talking to him. Does he not have a girlfriend? Why would he wanna take me out I'm just a plain jane kind of girl. Maybe I should go. I've never had fun so maybe this'll be a good thing.

"Yes," I said making his eyes surprisingly light up. He smiled and nodded as he laughed a little and looked down. He looked like he was debating a question. Maybe he was reconsidering going out with me.

"Great, how about Saturday at about 8:30. I'll pick you up," He insisted hopefully. The glint in his green eyes sparkled. His finger tapped against his leg, if almost very impatiently. His left eyebrow arched to perfection and raised in questioning.

"Yes," I replied making him smile. He got up and walked around the corner and I laughed a little waiting for him to come back. He smiled coming back around the corner and sitting next to me.

"I forgot about the address," He said chuckling and slightly smirking at me. I smiled and grabbed a notebook from my bag with my light green gel pen, which matched the colored bands on my braces. I wrote down my address and handed it to him, his hand lightly grazing mine.

"So I'll see you on Saturday," He said, then smirked walking away. I slowly turned back to my food and ate my cheese danish, then threw my trash away. I couldn't wait until Saturday, but I didn't have any other option. Maybe this could be the highlight of my life. The right path to my future.

I sat in seventh hour; Physical Science and drew all over the black science desk with my eraser. Mr.Blackwood handed out our pre-test on Motion. I couldn't really focus because my mind kept drifting off to Darrian. His beautiful, glinted, green eyes. His dark hair and light, almost pale skin. I glanced at the clock and saw that it was 3:25. I packed up all of my things and slung my bag over my shoulder walking outside.

I took the longer way home admiring all of the scenery. The couple's walking down the street giggling and smiling. I slowly made my way to my house and walked up the first three cement steps. I took my key out of my side pouch and unlocked the door. I walked in the house and saw my mom laying on the couch, sleeping her life away. I simply sighed and walked up to my room. I sat on my singular sized bed and shrugged my bag off of my shoulder and onto the floor.

I eventually got up and got in the shower. I washed away all of my troubles and let the Mango scent take over. The cold water felt refreshing and it made me think. The water hit my skin like ice and I let the water run over my hair as I let out a deep needed breath. I got out of the shower and put on some shorts and a tank top, brushed my teeth and fell out onto my bed thinking about how my life might turn out after this date.
