Bambi POV
I continued to laugh as Darrian watched the monitor in awe. We were at another appointment, watching the baby move around. We were so ready for him to get here, and knowing that we only had to wait another two months was driving us up the wall. He was already making me proud with all this kicking and it just keeps getting better.
"Look at our little baby!" He exclaimed and I laughed as he looked over at me. He winked and I blushed quickly looking back at the screen.
"Well it looks like nothing has changed, the baby is perfectly healthy and growing just fine." My obstetrician said and I nodded.
"Thank you, I'll see you in the waiting room." I said. The next time I'd see him would be delivering the baby.

"Oww, Darrian get the baby's bag!" I yelled as I felt another contraction hit. He quickly grabbed it and ran me outside, helping me in the car.
"Come on baby, take deep breaths." He said soothingly and I moaned in pain before breathing in deeply and slowly exhaling.
"Alright here we go." This was it.

"Push baby you're doing fine." Darrian cooed as he wiped my forehead with a wet towel. I groaned and pushed as hard as I could until I heard sudden whimpers.
"Here you go mom!" He said as he handed me my baby. My precious little baby. The bundle of joy that I'd be carrying for nine long months was finally here, and I couldn't be more blessed. Darrian kissed me and the baby's forehead as a tear slipped out of my eye.
"Welcome to the world, Darius Marquan." I whispered softly kissing his cheek.
Major POV
Seeing Bambi with her baby's father made me feel guilty. Not only for leaving her, but for leaving the baby, all alone. It was tough for me to see them together, especially since I was so committed to this baby becoming my baby. Me and Kim weren't exactly together but we were getting there, for the sake of Malachi.
We were back at the hospital again, and I was stressed out. Malachi was outside playing when he fell off of the monkey bars and his head started to leak. We brung him to the hospital immediately and it was declared that he needed a blood transfusion, but him and Kim didn't have the same blood type.
I sat next to Malachi's bed and watched him sleep. Just then the doctor came in. He looked over his clipboard and back up with a smile.
"Unfortunately Miss you aren't a match, but you sir are. Could I ask where the child's father is?" He asked and I rose my hand.
"I'm the father." I said and he looked at his clipboard, with his lips twisted to the side.
"No sir. You have the same blood type, but you aren't a match in his DNA patterns. I'm sorry." He said and I looked down shamefully.
"Kim what the hell man. Tell me something." I exclaimed.
"I'm sorry Major, I really thought he was your son." She said and I shook my head before kissing his head, and walking out. I roamed the halls on different floors until I just gave up. I looked up and inside the window was Bambi welcoming her baby to the world. I watched as he kissed her lips and I slid down the wall.
I know I messed up, and nothing would change it. My only regret was leaving one child, who I considered my own, for another. All I could say was sorry, but I knew, I just knew that it wasn't enough.
