Liam was in shock, he couldn't feel anything after reading those words. It was almost like he was numb, the confession slipping through his fingers.

"Liam!" Mason called out but it was barely a whisper, as voices began to fill his mind.

Why didn't he see that the chimera was in pain? He was supposed to love him, he was supposed to care for him but instead, he was angry at him and was arrogant.

Theo had been through so much. His childhood was just a lie to him, manipulated into a devil to kill his own family at just a young age. Then to be sent to one of the most horrible places to relive your nightmare again and again. And now, suffering alone with something that he was tricked to think that it would help him but instead, is killing him slowly.

Liam wasn't going to lose Theo to the darkness. For the first time in months, he got off his arse and stood up, his body full of electricity and adrenaline.

"Okay bud, are you okay?"

"I don't care about myself right now, Mason. We need to find Theo." he spoke in a soft but stern voice, Mason nodding in agreement.

"Theo! Baby!"

The beta has been calling his love for a while now, but there was no response. Worried, he kept calling the brunette's name. He was determined to find Theo, he wasn't going to lose him yet.

"Liam!" the blonde turned to find dark brown hair he was too familiar with.

He could feel his stomach churning inside as he stood only a few metres away from Nolan. Teary blue eyes reflected in his and his heart cracked when he saw the fake smile plastered on his lips. He had hurt him: hurt him in a way that no one could ever come back from. He used him as a distraction, but he was still happy that he had the guts to stand in front of him now.

"Nolan, I'm soo sorry. I—"

"Don't worry about it. What matters now is you to get you to Theo."

Liam smiles at the human, placing his arm on his shoulder. He had his friend back and now he could go and find his true love. But he couldn't find anywhere, he couldn't smell the scent of coconut and vanilla that he was used to.

After searching for a while longer, the beta began to lose hope. It was almost three in the morning, he couldn't find the chimera anywhere. He could be dead, Liam tried to push the haunting thoughts in his head but they weren't wrong. He might have finally lost him.

"Liam? Hey Liam, it's okay." he could hear Nolan's voice but it was distant, his vision hazy.

"Liam, focus. Listen to my voice."

His breathing slowed down, knowing who was speaking to him. The beta looked up to see a pair of ocean blue eyes, just the sight calming him. He felt soft, warm hands cup his face and a smile appeared. His yellow eyes began to fade, his claws following.

"Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah. Thanks Theo." he pulls the taller boy into a hug, surprising them both.

The brunette's laughs were like music to Liam's ears as he hugged back, his strong arms wrapping around the blonde. He made him feel safe, safer than he ever has been since he became part of the supernatural. It was almost like Theo was a shield of armour that Liam needed for protection; he hated feeling vulnerable but he liked it for once.

The beta was brought back to reality when he saw Scott in front of him, his red eyes glowing at him, them turning back to brown after. His hand was placed on Liam's shoulder, like a father comforting his son.

"We know you miss him, Liam." the alpha reached out with a notepad and a pen.

"Write to him and he'll come to you." Liam nods, taking the book and pen from his hand.
