Liam had kept quiet ever since he had found the letter Theo had written to him, telling him that no matter what, the chimera was going to die. And the thought of that frightened the blonde.

The light brunette had been there through everything, even though they were rival enemies when they first met. He taught Liam to control his anger, to not let people get the best of him. The boy had become his anchor, despite him thinking someone else. He didn't realise how much he loved Theo then but now he wished he had the courage to admit his feelings all those months ago.

But the beta couldn't help but be angry. Of course, with his IED, he was bound to be angry. His boyfriend, the love of his life had lied to him, even if he thought it was for the greater good.

The couple were sat next to each other whilst the rest of the pack had come round. Liam was surprised by the sudden change in mood but everyone in the group insisted to help Theo 'recover', as they all though. The group were lounging around in Scott's living room, Theo and Liam cuddled up on one of the sofas. The chimera had his arm draped around the beta's shoulders, rubbing his fingers against his skin.

Liam couldn't take it anymore. He needed to know why.

"When were you going to tell me, Theo?" he abruptly says, catching everyone's attention.

"Tell you what, baby blue?"

The light brunette turned to face his love, a nervous smile creeping onto his lips. He tried to hide it as much as he could but he knew that Liam could smell the anxiety off of him.

"Oh, you know... the fact that you're still motherfucking ill and didn't tell me?"

"Okay, I think we're just going to leave..." Stiles or someone had said as one by one, the pack began to leave, Liam not caring who.

His blue eyes, well yellow eyes were glaring at Theo, who was sitting a safe distance away from him. The blonde hadn't wolfed out in months, thanks to Theo but now it felt like the beginning when Theo was the enemy not be reckoned with.

"Liam..."

"When were you going to tell me? You dying right in front of me?"

"Liam, just calm down."

Both boys turned to see Scott, his red eyes flashing at Liam. Liam was done being the baby, the one that was told what to do. He hated it, he hated being controlled like a puppet, Scott, Theo, the pack controlling the strings that hung him up.

"You knew, didn't you? Why Scott, why didn't you tell me? Why didn't any of you tell me?"

All of the boys were on their feet, Scott and Theo next to each other whilst Liam was in front of them. Every time Theo would step forward to reach out to the beta, he would step back. This shattered not only his heart but also Scott's. He knew the love between him and Theo, it was like him and Allison. His first love. Seeing them broken like this didn't feel right and he felt partly responsible.

"I didn't want to worry you. Baby, you know how you would get and I didn't want to spend my last moments with you panicking like a pup. I wanted us to be happy, to go back to the way it was before."

"You mean the way that you manipulated me to kill Scott so that you can kill me?"

Liam knew he had pulled open a wound as Theo snarled at him, wanting to lunge forwards but the alpha stopped him. The beta did feel guilty after what he said but Theo had lied to him about something important. He couldn't let him off the hook easily.

"Liam, what the hell has got into you?"

"Him! He did, Scott. He came in and made me fall fucking in love with him and then you know what he did? He left. He fucking left me and left me heartbroken. And when I just had finished gluing the pieces together, he comes in again and breaks me apart again!"

Tears were streaming down both Theo and Liam's cheeks as Liam takes one more good look at Theo. His light brown hair was messy, his sky blue eyes were now burning red with tears falling onto his skin. Liam could hear him quietly sobbing and it snapped in his mind. Theo was broken, just like Liam and he came back as Liam was the glue to hold him back together.

But he couldn't. The beta couldn't face him after what he said.

"I'm sorry." was the last thing before he ran outside the house.

i broke my own heart writing this, is that even possible? but yeah, maybe thiam doesn't get the happy ending that everyone thought they would get... :(

also that maze runner reference was unintentional, it kinda slipped out :)
