As soon as he got the message, Liam jumped out of his bed, grabbed his hoodie and phone and ran down the stairs, careful not to fall from the speed he was running at. The beta opened his phone, messaging the first person he could.

liam
Come pick me up, at my house. Now, please.

nolan
Are you sure?

liam
Yeah, we need to talk.

Liam thought he would regret messaging Nolan but he didn't. He was an absolute asshole to his friend, maybe even his best friend. He used him in the most heartbreaking way.

There was a soft knock on his front door. The beta opened it, preparing him with an inconsolable brunette, ready to punch him the face. Yes, the human was against violence after everything that happened with the hunters but the boy can be pretty violent.

"Liam?"

"Please don't hit me." the werewolf wimped, shutting his eyes.

"You idiot. I'm not going to punch you, Theo would beat me into a pulp in two seconds."

Theo, the name triggered memories, all the memories when they were together. He was fond on a particular one, this only occurred almost a year ago. It was when they first met, well when Liam first fell in love with the chimera.

Stiles had somehow convinced Liam to come spy on the chimera, the human being the suspicious teen he was. His blue eyes drifted to look at the boy, white flowers in his hands. He looks sad, the beta thought. This was absurd as he had been taught by the irritated brunette had taught him time and time again that Theo was bad. But he looked soo innocent.

Liam noticed something different inside the light brunette that day. Every day, the werewolf would fall a little bit more in love with the chimera.

He was soo caught up in his thoughts that he hadn't realised that he was at the animal clinic. He faced Nolan, the boy having a genuine smile on his face.

"Go get your man." both boys let out a laugh as Liam opens the passenger door.

"Wait, Nolan."

"Liam, don't worry about it."

"No, I have to. What I did to you was horrible. You told me you loved me and I thought you were being genuine. I didn't think you actually meant it. But you did and I'm sorry I can't love you back. You deserve the whole fucking world and not someone like me. I needed to say that."

Tears swelled into the dark-haired boy's eyes as he pulled the beta into an embrace. He hugged out of love - not romantic love but friendship, something they didn't even realise they had.

"It's okay Liam. Yeah, I really liked you but I knew what I was getting myself into. Plus, I kinda found someone else."

"WHAT! Who?"

"Don't you have a boyfriend to save?"

"Nice save." the blonde smiles before thanking him and getting out of the car.

It was finally time. The problem is: was Liam ready for it?
