It was September now, and Bill wanted us to meet up by the quarry.
We sat in the grass talking about the weird experience we've all had since this summer began. Beverley was the main focus of the circle. Then Bill, Richie, Eddie, Mike, Me, Stan, then finally Ben.
"Beverley, do you r-remember what it was like when It t-t-took you?" Bill spoke softly.
"I can only remember parts," she started, "But I thought I was dead. That's what it felt like." I laid my head on Stan's shoulder. "I saw us, all of us together back in the system but we were older, like our parent ages."
"w-what were we all doing?" Bill asked again.
"I just remember how we felt, I was scared and I never thought we would get out." Beverly spoke putting us all in a sadder mood.
Then Bill stood up suddenly, "Swear, s-s-swear if IT isn't dead, if IT ever comes back. We come back too." He held up a sharp piece of glass. We all looked at each other nervously.
Beverly stood up, then Richie and Eddie, then me, Stan, Mike, and Ben. Bill then cut his hand with the glass shard and quickly cut Richie's or him. Richie winced at the pain. Eddie turned away and let Bill cut his free hand. Mike's hand was cut next, then mine. It hurt so bad, and one of us could easily have aid or any blood borne viruses. But its worth it for the group. Stan's hand got cut, but it was hard to sympathize for him because his hair looked so funny in his bandages. Ben just stared as Bill cut his hand, then last was Beverly. She didn't even wince.
we all grabbed the person's hand next to us, ignoring the fact that we have a serious gash on our hand that could seriously be infected. We stared at each other for a moment, then Stan spoke.
"I gotta go," he looked tired, "I hate you." I looked directly at Bill, and I thought there as gonna be another fight, but Stan couldn't play along with his joke before laughing it off. "I'll see you later." He let go of the circle.
"Hey, I should probably go too, he's my ride home. Bye guys." I spoke letting go of Mike's hand.
"You just wanna go and make out with Stan." Richie joked, then made kissy faces at me.
I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, bye guys." I smiled at them then scurried next to Stan.
"What an insane summer." He spoke to me.
"You're telling me." Stan hopped on his bike and tried his best share the seat with me, but I held close tight to him. I inhaled his scent. He smells of fresh clothes. He then slowed down his break when we got to the bridge and eventually stopped. I looked up to see what he was doing. He gazed at the very beginnings of the sunset. Then got off of his bike, and helped me off.
"Hey y/n." Stan spoke softly.
"Yeah?"
"I may not say this a lot but I really do appreciate you, and I think we really have something special here." He was looking me dead in the eyes.
"Me too Stan, but why did you just decide all of the sudden to tell me?" I asked smiling at him.
"Well, it's just that's you've always been here to help when I get hurt or if I'm just feeling sad. And when IT was literally eating my face, you were there to console me and badge me up." He looked at the ground, and grabbed my hands.
"Stan, it's okay-"
"What I'm trying to get to is, 95% of high school relationships don't last after high school. And only 1% of those actually get married, then .75% of that lasts and has a happy marriage." Stan rushed out.
"Stan what the hell are you saying?" I asked,
"What I'm trying to say is, can we try and be that .75%?" He asked exposing his soft brown eyes.
"Of course." I spoke happily, then Stan grabbed my face and smashed our lips together.
"WOO GET IT STAN THE MAN." Richie yelled from below the bridge.
"YOU COULD HAVE WAITED LIKE FIVE MINUTES AND YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN AT YOUR HOUSE." Eddie complained.
We quickly broke apart the kiss, "Sorry!" I yelled to them.
"You don't have to be sorry, it's their damn fault for looking." Stan then started to yell at them, "MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS." Then we hopped back on Stan's bike and rode back to his house.
