"Right! Left! Right! Left! Left!" Lincoln stopped barking out commands when Jamie's movements faltered. He grinned and shook his head lightly at her, patting her on the shoulder as he walked to his water bottle.

"You tricked me!" She complained playfully, bouncing on her heels as she waited for him to come back.

Only four days had passed since she woke up and after several hours of training each day, she was beginning to feel like herself again. Her muscles were throbbing but that meant they were working the way they should be.

The first day was the hardest for many reasons. She could barely move without her body pulsating in pain and Jackson commented several times about how every bone in her body should be broken. No one even knew how she was still alive.

Lincoln, Bellamy, and Jackson were solely responsible for the remarkable progress she made in such a short time and she tried her best to make sure they knew how grateful she was for their help. Lincoln helped prepare her for a fight with the Ice Nation by working on her fighting techniques, Jackson helped strengthen her muscles with strenuous balance exercises, and Bellamy was there for her whether she needed him or not. She always needed him though.

It was hard for her at times to distinguish reality from her nightmares. Every time her eyes closed she was transported back to the days she walked with Ice Nation. She could feel the pain radiating through her body all over again and it was becoming truly torturous. She dreaded sleep and each night wrapped her arms tighter around Bellamy than the last. It seemed like no matter what she did, she could never be close enough to him to feel safe.

Lincoln approached her with his grin still in place, pulling her from her grim thoughts. "I was hoping you would be listening to my commands close enough to stop your automatic movement. You can't put yourself on autopilot and expect to defeat Prince Roan, Jamie. He's good. Great even."

"I heard he's fighting injured too." Jamie replied quietly, taking a drink from her own water bottle.

Lincoln's eyes narrowed marginally. "Nothing compared to you."

"Relax Lincoln, that won't be the first time I've heard that. Can we keep training, please?" She tried calming her body and got into the protective stance her father showed her.

He sighed lightly and before she had time to react, he dove at her.

She tensed in anticipation and braced for impact, twisting in his hold and escaping.

He nodded encouragingly as he lunged towards her again.

She pivoted on her heel and her foot swiftly pulled his feet out from under him.

He landed on the ground in a crouch and hesitated before pouncing once again.

Her chest heaved as she analyzed the way his body moved and as she tracked his actions she quickly predicted what he would do next. She jumped away from him half a second before his foot would have connected with her shin and his eyes met hers instantly.

She blushed at the pride displayed on his face and he nodded slightly. "You're almost ready." He stood tall, placing a light hand on her shoulder as he studied her. "I'm proud of how far you've come in four days. You should be too."

She dropped her shoulder, causing his hand to slide off. "Don't say that. Not yet. There's still so much I have to do before I leave." Her cheeks reddened and she took in a deep breath. "I do appreciate it though." She nearly whispered, a light smile on her face.
