The doors of the tower were thrown open violently as the hot-tempered blonde stormed across the threshold. Her narrowed eyes landed on the door she needed and her feet propelled her forward even faster. She pushed the door open silently and stilled when Clarke spoke.

"I've never seen blood that color before."

Jamie slipped into the large room and the door shut behind her. Her silent movements didn't draw attention as she listened to the others talk.

Lexa straightened slightly and turned her attention to Clarke.

"Goes back to the first commander. When a nightblood child is found, they're brought here to be trained, or supposed to be."

"Your legacy is no longer secure. There is still time to choose a champion." A bald man that Jamie didn't know stated, stepping towards Lexa with a concerned expression.

"You know I can't do that." Lexa shook her head instantly, dismissing him as she walked past him.

"Heda-" The man started, stopping when Lexa interrupted. "Leave us."

Jamie quickly shifted and hid behind one of the support beams in the room, hiding herself from the man. He strode out of the room quickly and Jamie's eyes refocused on Clarke and Lexa.

"Titus is right. You're giving her exactly what she wants."

Lexa shook her head in dismissal. "Only if I lose. I know you're just trying to help Clarke, but there's nothing you can do here."

"I can't just let Roan kill you."

"He won't." Jamie slowly stepped out from behind the pole, eyes focused solely on Lexa. "I've made a deal with the Ice Prince and unlike you, I will make sure he honors it. I will kill her before he kills you."

Lexa's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she studied Jamie. The blonde had survived death multiple times since they arrived and the commander couldn't doubt her abilities yet. "What deal?"

"The Ice Queen is mine. All Roan wants is to be King." Jamie paused, taking another step towards Lexa. "You don't have to die."

Lexa kept her gaze on Jamie as she replied. "If that is to be my fate-"

"I won't just sit there and watch you die." Clarke interrupted.

"By the end of the day, I will be the only Queen here regardless of what you say about it. The only difference is if you're on my side or not. It has nothing to do with Skaikru or anyone other than the Ice Queen and me." Jamie's eyes hardened and shifted to Clarke's. "I am owed this kill. After everything I went through because of you-" Jamie's eyes narrowed as her gaze shifted back to Lexa, her point made clear. "I deserve this."

"This is my fight Jaymes."

"I'm not asking to fight. I'm telling you that I'm going to kill her and you can accept that or try to stop me but I won't fail. You don't have to die for this."

Lexa's eyes briefly met Clarke's. Clarke nodded encouragingly as Lexa's gaze returned to Jamie. "You are both the same. You have different reasons but both of you are great leaders. You're driven to fix everything for everyone, but neither of you can fix this. I have to do this on my own and you have to let me."
