The rover came to a slow stop and both boys exchanged a weary look before exiting. The tunnel before them appeared abandoned but both knew it wasn't.

"You were right about Jasper." Monty mumbled, gripping his gun tighter as his eyes scanned the surrounding area. When Bellamy didn't reply, Monty suppressed a sigh and continued speaking quietly. "Is that what you want me to say?"

His harsh tone caught Bellamy's attention and he subtly shook his head, slightly aggravated at the boy walking with him. "Quiet. Keep your eyes peeled."

Monty's expression hardened and Bellamy could see how rigid his posture had become.

"Look—" Bellamy's eyes shifted to Monty's and both lost a bit of their edge. "I could've said no."

"He's getting worse isn't he? I--I mean getting drunk every night is one thing but smiling with a knife to your throat?" His nervous rambling had Bellamy watching him with a concerned gaze but he continued talking. "That's next level damage." He released a sharp breath and shook his head, eyes focused on where he was walking. "What happens if she can't fix things when we get her back?"

Bellamy tensed and his eyes returned to the woods.

"Ever since she went missing I've been so focused on how things will be okay again when she's back that I haven't thought about what happens if things don't change! What if she can't fix him and he's just...just..."

"Monty," Bellamy stopped walking and turned towards the younger boy. "You can't think about all of this right now, alright? We have a mission to do and once we're done you won't have to worry about it." He arched a brow and leaned slightly closer, placing a hand on Monty's shoulder. "Got it?"

Monty's brow furrowed and he slowly nodded as Kane emerged through the trees right outside the tunnel.

"Who's he with?"

Monty's eyes shifted back to Bellamy as he replied, "Indra."

"That's Indra?"

Bellamy nodded and picked up his pace. "He must have told her we broke the truce. Sir, before you say anything there was a good reason—"

"I'll deal with that later." Kane dismissed him. "This is about the girls. About Clarke."

"What about them?" Bellamy stepped forward, instantly desperate to know more.

"She's being hunted."

Indra's voice was steady as she spoke, matching her calm exterior. She emphasized the word she to redirect their attention to Clarke and only Clarke.

"By who?" Monty's voice waivered and he, too, took a step forward.

Indra's eyes shifted between them and the moment of silence before her reply seemed to last forever as her eyes hardened. "By everyone."

"We'll talk about it in the rover." Kane interrupted, eager to get going again. "We need to get to sector seven."

Bellamy regarded Kane carefully before reluctantly turning back towards the rover. Monty glanced at him, question in his gaze, before following.
