Felix's POV
I cannot believe it. All this time we've been friends and just like that, she changes. I was so stupid! All these years I trusted her, all these years and now she just does this to me?! She just quits out on me like we were never friends at all. All because of some stupid necklace! All because of... Andy.
I try to calm myself down by playing, 'Sacrifice' my favourite song by London After Midnight. After, I reluctantly put down my guitar, have a shower, and get dressed. Then I walk to school drinking an iced coffee and thinking, What a great start to a sure to be miserable day, again.
I finally get to school. I head up to my classroom and when I get there I sit in the middle. The front is for brainiacs and the back is for attention seekers. Right at that moment, Mr. Bates walks in with someone I have never seen before. She is a girl with long black hair and pale skin. She has a few piercings including one on her nose, 2 on one ear and 3 on the other, she is wearing a black choker with a red stone and a bat on it, she has a hint of grey eyeshadow on and eyeliner. Her eyes are electric blue and I unintentionally find myself staring.
"Good morning class!" Mr. Bates voice snaps me back to reality. "I would like to introduce you to a new student starting here today, this is Raven Lo Morte," he gestures to the new girl. "Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself, Raven? Where are you from?"
"Oh, well..." She says in a sweet voice, but I know there's more to her than the innocent little girl she pretends to be. "My mother was a musician, she was from England, and my father was from Transilvania."
The class starts murmuring and Trent says "I want to suck your blood!" In a 'vampire' voice as everyone erupts into laughter. Everyone except me.
"Shush! Quieten down!" Mr Bates orders. "Now then, have you come here with your parents then, Raven?"
"Oh, no." She replies. "My father is in Transilvania, and my mother died a long time ago. I'm here with my uncle."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Mr. Bates says.
"No, don't worry, it wasn't your fault." She says honestly. Mr. Bates nods and directs her to the seat in front of me. He starts the lesson, today's topic for science: dust mites, ugg. In front of me, Raven is drawing a wolf howling at the moon, she draws with such care and accuracy, it's amazing. I tear a piece of paper from my book and write a note on it.
Hi, my name is Felix Ferne, that's really good you know.
I pass it to her, and see her smile when she reads it, writing her response and passing it back over her shoulder to me. I read it.
Thank you Felix, it is a true pleasure to meet you, most people just ignore me.
I write back and pass it to her.
The pleasure is all mine, I know what it feels like for everyone to think you're a freak, it can be really hard.
She hands it back to me.
I'm glad that some one finally feels the same way as I do, maybe we can get to know each other better later.
I quickly write back to her.
I hope so too, meet me at the basketball court at lunch?
She writes back and I smile when I read it.
I shall see you then, don't be late.
This day may not turn out to be as miserable as I thought it'd be...

I spent the rest of the day with Raven, like me, she had suffered in her life, unlike me, she had suffered way more. Her mother died when she was only 6 years old. Her father had to take care of her as well as her stepbrother, who was her best friend. She loves music, art and writing, apparently she is living here with her uncle. She speaks in an old fashioned kind of way, but she is not old fashioned. Right now she is walking home with me and we are talking and listening to out favourite music, she has great taste and listens to things like Emilie Autumn, London after midnight, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Bauhaus and many others. When we get to my place I introduce her to my family, she greets each one of them politely with a curtsy and says "pleasure to meet you all." I think my mum likes her.
We walk into my room where we start playing our favourite songs, me on the guitar and Raven singing. She is one of the best singers I've heard! When she sings she closes her eyes and dances slightly to the beat. It is like her second nature. We spend hours just singing, and playing music. She has written many of her own songs and says she will show them to me tomorrow. We talk about making a band, her on vocals, me on guitar. The only problem is we don't have a drummer, but we make the band anyway. It's called 'Injustice'.
"I think I should be heading back." She says after hours of being at my place.
I nod, it is sunset and I don't think her uncle will be pleased.
I walk with her out the door and a bit down the street, where she says goodbye.
"Thank you Felix," she kisses me on the cheek. "For the most wonderful evening I've had in a long time." Then she walks away and I go back inside.
I take out my diary and start drawing, but instead of drawing skulls and creeping shadows like I usually do, I find myself drawing a girl, with long black hair, a smile, and wonderful eyes. I draw this girl a few times before I go to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a great day.
