Sam's POV
Honestly, in this one moment, I felt so sincerely sorry for Felix.
He has lost so much, and I could not even begin to understand. He out of all four of us, has suffered too much. I have Mia, a family who loves me, and I am the most popular kid at school. Jake has his mum, his friends, he is a sport legend at our school. Sure, Andy gets picked on, but is is so god damn smart, and his family couldn't be prouder, he also now has Ellen. But Felix, oh man. I know that his family cares about him, but he's lost Ellen to Andy, blames himself for the way Oscar is (don't know why yet), he is a loner and an outcast everywhere he goes, and now that he finally found someone who truly understands him and someone who cares so much for him, someone he'd risk his life for, now they have been snatched away leaving him alone once more. He has lost Blake, and now Raven.
Also I have never seen Felix cry, but now as he summons the fire dagger, he looks furiously destroyed inside.
"No more." He whispers loudly. "It's over."
Right when he hoists the dagger above Alice's heart, Jake steps forward. I am surprised, and utterly confused.
"Step aside Jake." Felix says through tears and gritted teeth. "I don't want to hurt you."
"Stop it!"Jake exclaims. "Do you really want to do this? It will make you lower than her! Please, Felix, I know how you feel."
"No you don't!" Felix screams, lowering the dagger. "You have no idea how I feel!"
"Look, man." Jake tries to calm him down. "You lost her, you loved her, I get it. But think about it! It not your fault, it's not anyone's fault. It was her decision, and you need to understand and respect that because she did it for you! If Raven saw you now, what you were about to do, do you really think she would be proud of you? "
"I-I-I..." Felix sobs, looking up. Just then, a ghostly figure made of black shadows appears beside Jake.
"Raven?" Felix takes a shaky breath in.
Shadow Raven steps forward, with her hand outstretched she touches Felix's face, wiping the tears away.
"It's me." She whispers. "It's alright, it's alright." Her hand traces the side of Felix's body, all the way down his arm to where the fire knife rests. "I'm ok." She touches the blade and it disappears. Felix relaxes.
"You will always be with me, and I with you." She smiles. "Find me." And then she dissolves. Felix takes a huge breath in.
We all relax. Jake kneels at Alice's side. "It's ok." He smiles. "I've got you." He lifts her in his arms.
"Of all the people here present, you are the only one who does not fear me, who does not hold a grudge against me." Alice inquires. "Why?"
"Because." Replies Jake. "I'm not one to hold grudges. And, I know that deep down, you are innocent." She smiles at him and slides out of his arms, but still stands at his side holding his hand.
A groan comes from behind us and we all spin around. Oscar is standing, standing. I never noticed until now.
"Oscar!" Felix runs over to him. "You're okay?"
"Last time I checked." Oscar mumbles. "Felix, why am I standing?!"
Felix smiles. "Ravens last gift. She merged the 2 Oscars together when she was in the other world, before the doors closed."
The brothers hug tightly. We all laugh, not at them, but with them. Because no matter how grim the situation may be, we are all ok.
And that in the end, is what matters most. Above everything else.
