Chapter 13

Raven's POV
It's around 5:00pm, Saturday. My family are coming in roughly an hour, and I have to get ready. Last night was the best night of my life. Felix took me to the movie night at the lake, it was a vampire movie. We spent the whole time giggling like little kids at how unrealistic some of the scenes were, it felt like a comedy movie instead of a horror one.
Anyway, the guys are over at my place now, Uncle Ivan has left for Transylvania. We are all running around, placing cobwebs here and there, making sure there is no piece of technology whatsoever in the mansion and putting dust on any surface we can find. The cellar is filled with bottles of blood as well as champagne. When we are finally done, we all dump ourselves on the lounge. I am wearing a black dress with a cape and glossy black boots. Sam is wearing jeans and a yellow tee with a cap, Jake is wearing jeans, a grey baseball tee, and sneakers, Andy is wearing a blue button up shirt with denim shorts, and Felix is wearing black jeans, a black tee, black converse, and a black hoodie.
"You guys better go." I say, looking at the old clock. "They're going to be here in a few minutes." They look at each other, then at Felix.
"You didn't tell her?" Sam asks Felix, who looks at the carpet.
"Tell me what?" I inquire.
"Ummmmm." Felix begins. "Well, the thing is... We're staying."
"What?!" I jump up, completely shocked.
"Look, we're you friends." Sam says comfortingly. "Well, Felix May be a bit more th-" he's cut off short by Felix punching his shoulder. I blush.
"Anyways." Sam continues. "The point is, your like a sister to me, and all of us agree we are staying here with you. Think of us as your body guards." He smiles, clearly joking about the bodyguard part.
"Yeah." Jake laughs. "Bodyguards." Sam pulls us all into a group hug.
"Thank you, all of you. Your like my family." I say.
DING DONG, DING DONG.
The door bell rings, echoing throughout the mansion like a huge grandfather clock.
"Okay." I breathe shakily. "Here we go."
We all run to the huge oak door. It opens with a creeeaaaak, so loud it's like the hinges will snap off at any moment. We are faced with 2 black coffins, on the gold labels one reads 'Count Dracula' while the other reads 'Vladimir Dracula'. We push them into the lounge, closing all the windows and curtains. We step back and the coffins open, revealing 2 pale figures in capes.
"Raven!" Vlad comes out and hugs me tightly, I hug him back just as tight.
"I missed you so much!" I say. "Me too." He replies. I pull away as my father comes towards me. I curtsy. "Father." I say respectfully.
He looks at me grimly, then hugs me. "Nice to see my daughter safe and sound!" He says cheerfully. "I thought living with all these breathers would turn you soft, but here you are, at last!" He turns to my friends. "And who are these, unfortunate souls?" He asks, a huge evil grin spreading across his face.
"Um, dad." I explain. "These are my friends, Sam, Andy, Jake, and Felix."
My brother steps forward, shaking hands with all of them. "Nice to meet you, I'm Vlad, Ravens younger brother." They nod.
"Well, well, well." My dad says, eyeing them suspitiously. "How very nice."
I cough. "Come on, I'll show you to your room, then we can have dinner."
"Fantastic!" Says dad. "I haven't eaten since Renfeild made us devour that nasty vegetable soup." He walks off. I tell the others to go into the dining room and sit down.
Now in the lounge, it's only me and Vlad.
"Nice friends you have there." He says, smiling.
"Yeah," I smile back. "Andy is really smart and can always make me laugh, Jake is I guess a bit protective of me but he is a really good friend, Sam is like a brother to me, but he'll never replace you."
Vlad laughs. "Course he won't. And Felix?"
I sigh. "It's complicated."
"Uh-ha." Vlad replies. "If it's so complicated, then why is it so obvious?"
"Come on." I grab Vlad's arm and pull him into the dining room.
