Chapter 3

Andy's POV
We follow Sam through the forest and into a clearing. There, lies a rundown shack, the same shack we found refuge in when we were in the parallel universe.
"Great." I say. "We can use this place to practice, since hardly no one knows about it." The others nod in agreement.
"So," Felix sighs. "Let's get started."
We spend the whole day there, training. Felix tries to teach us everything he knows about magic, and we try to absorb every bit of information possible. It was hard for me especially, magic really just made no sence. Lunchtime came, and Sam went out and brought us some lunch. After we trained some more and by 5:00pm, we were all beat.
"I never thought magic would be so tiring." Groans Jake as we all sit down on the grass.
"Yeah," agrees Sam. "And it's made me hungry."
Felix shakes his head head hopelessly at us. "Well it wasn't exactly going to be easy, you have to first learn to connect with your element, then learn to control it. It's going to take some practice."
"Tell me," I inquire. "Exactly how bad were we?"
"Well, you didn't even manage to get the first part right." Felix replies, "So... On a scale of 1 to 10? Around about a 3. For all of you."
"At least we didn't get a zero." Sam grabs a chocolate stick from his pocket and starts munching away at it.
"Guys... We better get going." Felix stands up suddenly.
"Why, what's wrong?" Sam asks standing up with me and Jake.
Felix starts towards the forest, slowly and soundlessly. "What are you-" Jake whispers, but he is cut off by a huge hurricane emerging into the clearing. "Felix, come on!" We all yell, trying to pull him away.
"Wait!" He orders. The hurricane has turned into a young lady, with caramel hair and freckles. She is wearing a long black hooded cloak, and an evil smile.
"Felix." Her voice echoes throughout the bush, like a thousand souls talking at once. "You have broken the laws you have disobeyed the rules of magic. And now, you will pay by death!"
"Alice, listen!" Felix takes a step forward. "I didn't mean to, all I wanted was to undo my brothers accident! Look at you now! Do you really think you're sister will be proud of you? Do you?!"
"How brave you are, to defy me. But you're existence will soon come to an end, Phoebe was too naive to see that the order must be restored, and she paid the price, just as you will."
"What have you done with her?" Felix runs forward, but Alice holds up her hand and everything turns to slow motion. "Nothing, yet." She flicks her hand and Felix goes flying backwards as time returns to its normal state.
"No!" Sam charges forward, but the same happens to him and he lands in Jakes arms.
"You're a monster." I say.
"Well then, if you are to stay between me and my revenge, then you will pay the price aswell."
"Don't you dare threaten them!" Felix runs forward once again but this time, he is faster. He holds out his hand and flames erupt from the ground below Alice.
"No!" She screams as the fire swallows her up. "This isn't over, Felix, I will have my revenge, order will be restored!" She disappears as the flames close in around her. Then it's all silent, as Felix lowers hit hand and the flames die down.
"I have no idea what just happened." Sam confirms. "But, that fire thingy you just did, was sick!"
Felix laughs shakily. "Come on," he says. "Let's get out of here."
We walk down the street where Felix's house is, and say goodbye.
"See you at school, then?" I ask.
"Yeah," Jake grins. "See you at school."
And then we all go our own ways as the moon glitters palely in the night sky.
