"Hey you ready for school?" Jess asked.
"Yeah, let me get my bag," I said grabbing my keys and a muffin.
Jessica and I began to walk to school,
"So are you and Derek back together?" She asked.
"No we are not. We don't plan on anytime sooner because all he wants from me is—"
"Hey ladies!" The devil himself spoke.
I sped up my walking pace and put my earbuds in as Betrayed by Lil Xan came on.
This song hit my feels all the time.
I took my earbuds out as I reached my locker,
"Okay what the hell was that about?" Jessica asked catching up to me.
"I don't feel like seeing or talking to Derek, okay? What happened between us is history," I answered.
"Alright. Anyways, can I copy your biology homework?" she laughed.
"Sure, I'll give it to you at lunch," I answered getting my binder and textbook out for history.
"Hey princess, tryna avoid me again?" He smirked.
"Derek can you just not? Everyday you torment me with stuff that happened awhile ago. Just please," I begged.
"I'm sorry then," he said.
"Thank you. And I'm not saying I don't want to be friends with you or I'm avoiding you but at times the stuff that's happened between us should just be left alone," I mumbled.
"I gotcha but hey that head in junior high was so fucking good!" he laughed.
I laughed, "Hey just don't bring it up or blackmail me with it, okay?"
"Of course," he patted my forearm and smiled as me as he went to his class.

Lunch was right around the corner but till then I was stuck in Geometry.
"Once you finish the test you may go to lunch," my teacher spoke.
I finished adding up the angles and substituting x and y but that class was pretty hard.
I wrote my name and turned in my test before giving my teacher a small smile and waving.
I caught up with Jessica and Derek at her locker as I looked around the empty hallways.
"Hey guys," I smiled.
Derek eyed me and bit his lip,
"Hey," Jessica said.
"What's up?" Derek asked.
"Nothing much. Lunch plans?" I asked.
"Pizza? I have $15 and there's a Little Caesar's around the corner," Derek offered.
"Sounds good. And I am guessing you two cleared things up?" Jessica joked.
"Yeah, everything is great between us," I agreed.
"Better than ever," Derek smirked at me.
—
We sat down and ate our food with some small talk here and there.
"There's a party on Friday if you guys wanna go. Gonna be sick," Derek laughed.
"Sure, is there a catch to it?" I asked.
"Nope. Just a fun high school party with music and food," he smiled.
"I can't. Family reunion this weekend. Hopefully we can hangout next weekend," Jessica pouted.
"That sucks. But, are you in or not?" Derek laughed looking at me.
"I guess so," I said sipping my Sprite.
"Good. I'll be at your house at 5:15 ish. Be ready and look hot which for you shouldn't be an issue," he smirked.
"Wait what?" I said.
"Just be ready," He laughed.
