"I don't even know what to say," Derek's mom said.
"I am really sorry, Mr. & Mrs. Luh. I promise you won't happen again. It was a mistake and it won't happen again," I said.
"Thank you for being responsible and caring about this. We're not upset or mad at you, we're just angry with the choice that you made. We are completely fine with you and Derek dating it's just things like this that can make your relationship take a turn," My mom said.
"And it's alright. You're not a bad kid you just made a bad choice. As for Derek, we'll talk later," His dad said.
"We need a moment to speak so Ava and Derek can you please go into the dining room for a few minutes?" his mom asked.
We went inside the dining room and sat at the table,
"Derek what the fuck was that?" I mumbled.
"I was completely honest and I'm not gonna sit there and lie to your father," he responded.
I rolled my eyes and got up,
I grabbed my bag and walked back home,
—
I wanna call Jess over and talk to her about it but I haven't told her Derek and I have been fooling around or dating for a month now.
Eh fuck it,
I texted her and told her to come over so we could talk.
"What's up?" She said as she walked in.
My parents were back at work and I knew they were gonna yell at me later,
Just as I was about to tell Jess, Derek called,
"What?" I answered,
"I'm sorry that I made it look like I didn't care. I do care but my parents want you to come over for dinner tonight," he said.
"It's alright. I'll be there at 6," I answered.
"Okay, anyways what's up?" he asked.
"Nothing much, Jess just came over. You?" I asked.
"Oh that's cool and whatever you do don't tell her we're back together. Just please don't. And I'm doing laundry since I have dead sperm cells in my pants," he joked.
"Okay, please stop saying that. I love you but that sounds weird," I laughed.
"Love you too and I'll see you later," he said before hanging up.
I walked back into the room to see Jess on her phone,
"Hey who was that?" she asked.
"My mom. She called me to tell me that she wants me to be at her office at 6 so we can go grab some food since my dad is working late tonight. She also made a joke about how I say water so laugh all you want," I lied.
"Okay but on a real note, you need to learn how to say water," she joked.
"Ugh, stop attacking me," I laughed.

I fixed my hair and changed into a nice top and jeans with some pumps that weren't too high.
I put on some makeup and grabbed my jacket before heading over to his house,
A few moments later I was greeted by a smiling Derek,
I kissed his cheek and looked at his outfit,
"You look good," I said as I bit my lip.
"No funny business under the table," he growled in my ear.
I smirked at him and made my way over to the kitchen to see his mom bringing the food out, I gave her a hand before joining the rest of his family at the table.
I greeted his family and made small talk as we ate dinner,
Derek slid his hand up my thigh and grasped it lightly.
I grabbed his hand and moved it back to him,
I helped Derek's mom clean the table as we had a little small talk,
"I had Derek's dad knock some sense into him after you left. I knew that you were upset by the way you stormed out of the house," his mom mumbled.
"Thank you and I was upset he acted like he didn't care," I answered.
Speaking of the devil, Derek came into the kitchen and looked inside the fridge,
"Hey mom?" Derek asked.
"Yeah?" She answered.
"I'm sorry for earlier, I did care about everything and I'm sorry that my body language didn't show it," he said.
"Well honey, I'm not the one you should be apologizing to," she said looking at me.
She set the napkin down and left the kitchen as Derek got closer to me,
"I'm sorry about everything today, I know you're sensitive and I didn't mean to make you think I didn't care," he answered.
I hugged him and kissed his cheek,
"You're fine, and it's getting late. I'll text you when I get home," I said.
I said goodbye to his family and thanked them before I started walking back home.
