Right or Wrong

I looked at him like he was stupid. "What?" I asked in disbelief. He looked at me like I was crazy. "We are not taking in her kid!" He hollered. "Michael, that's Bens little sister." I said softly. "We literally just got Jayden home, who is going to go get her? Not me." He said frustrated. "I-I will." I said. "We just got Jayden home Amber!" He hollered. "She's going to be put in foster care." I said. "That's not our problem." He hollered. My heart was breaking for her still. Tears filled my eyes, "Why are you crying?" He asked throwing his hands in the air. "I feel bad. We can take her in, we can afford to take her and we're not." I cried. "It's a no. It is not happening. End of discussion." He said walking out.
Once he felt I called the number.

I couldn't stop thinking about it, Michael knew i wasn't getting over it. He held Jayden feeding him, "You need to let it go." He told me. I nodded, but I couldn't and I wouldn't. The only thing holding me back was my marriage. Michael and i have been doing good and I know if I do this it will set us back but this was eating me alive. It's been 4 days since Natalie called. I can't sleep. I have to do something.

It was the middle of the night, I grabbed a small bag and packed some clothes. I went into Bens room and shook him awake. "Mom?" He asked groggily. "Hey, I need you to go some where with me." I told him. I packed him a small bag and called bill. I left a note on Michael night stand explaining where I was and left the baby monitor on.

Luckily i was able to catch a private plane and me and Ben quickly boarded. "Mom, what going on?" He asked very worried. "Your biological mom got in trouble and they put Paiton in foster care. We're going to get her. Daddy didn't think it was a good idea but I can't let her go into foster care. We're bringing her home with us." I told him. He smiled widely.

Our plane landed and luckily no paps. I have 5 security guards following me. We got there at 6 am and the agency didn't open till 8. We sat at a hotel and my phone started ringing and it was Michael. I can't answer it. He's going to be so mad. It hit 8am and we went straight there. We had to get home ASAP. We met with her case worker and the cop who happened to be the same one who dealt with Ben. "Hey I remember this little guy." The officer smiled. "Yep hes getting big and he's ready to get his sister." I smiled tiredly. "We have someone getting her now. We just need you to sign some papers and to understand this is temporary till Natalie gets out." I nodded. I signed the papers and a lady came through the door with Paiton. Paiton was crying. Ben ran to her, "hey sis, remember me?" He asked she nodded. "I want my mommy." She whined. I couldn't stop looking at her, it was like looking in a mirror of me and Levi. Ben comforting her the way Levi did. Paiton confused just like I was. I'll be damned if I let her go into all these homes. "Hey Paiton, remember me?" I asked smiling. She nodded. "You get to come live with me. You're gonna have so much fun." I said. She nodded reaching for me. I picked her up.

We went straight to the airport and flew home. Paiton sat with Ben as she held her trash bag full of clothes. She passed out, poor thing. Bill picked us up from the airport and we headed home. "Dads going to be mad." Ben said I nodded.

It was 8pm. When we got home. I carried Paiton in the door and the kids ran to me. "Mom!" Aubrey hollered. "Shhhh." I said as Paiton was asleep. Paiton woke up a little groaning. Honestly she smelled horrible and was dirty as hell. "Aubrey go get me some of Harmonys clothes." I told her. "Who is that?" Harmony asked. "We're gonna get you cleaned up and then we'll eat okay?" I told her. She nodded scared. I took her up stairs in my bathroom and started running a bath for her. She held her blanket tightly, "you want bubbles in your bath?" I asked. She nodded excitedly but quickly went back to being scared. I gently helped her undress. She was shaking. "It's okay. Don't be scared." I said softly to her as I got her in the tub. She got goosebumps from the warm water. She gently patted her hands in the water then she started smiling. "I like this water!" She smiled. "You want some toys?" I asked her. She nodded. I gave her some toys and she squealed. She was finally warming up a little. I washed her curls and she was so tired. She nearly fell asleep as I washed her. "Alright do you know how to wash your body?" I asked she shook her head no. I told her how to because she was not my child and I didn't feel right washing her. I rinsed her off, "all clean!" I smiled. "All clean!" She replied. Aubrey walked in with clothes. "Mom, who is she?" She asked. I sighed. "She is Bens sister from his biological mother. She's going to be living with us for a while." I said. "Daddy's mad." She stated. I nodded. "I know and he's every right to be mad. Was Jayden good?" I asked she nodded. I dried her off and helped her get dress. I put product in her hair, she has hair like mine and the girls. She gasped, "my hair is finally pretty!" She smiled looking in the mirror. Me and Aubrey giggled. "Daddy left her some dinner." She said. I took her down stairs as Michael cleaned up the kitchen. He wouldn't even look at me. "Here's some food." I told her. She dug in. She was really hungry. I walked over to Michael. "You have every right to be mad." I told him. He shook his head. "We'll talk later." He said mad. I nodded. I kissed his cheek then sat with Paiton. "Do you want to sleep with Ben tonight?" I asked her. She shook her head, "Have to sleep on the floor?" She asked. She was breaking my heart. "No, you can sleep in a bed. A nice warm bed." I said. "Can I sleep with you?" She asked softly. "Yeah." I smiled. She finished eating quickly. "Hey, the food isn't going anywhere. Promise." I told her. She nodded. I helped her upstairs and laid her down and turned on the tv. She was so excited to Be in a big bed and have a tv. I walked down stairs where Michael still stood in the kitchen.
"I'm sorry." I told him. "No your not." He said simply. I wasn't truthfully sorry. "I'm sorry I went behind your back. It was wrong." I corrected myself. "So what do we do now? Huh? We have 5 kids in this house now. I'm suppose to pay for her doctors appointments and schooling now too?" He asked frustrated. Tears surfaced, "I couldn't stop thinking about her. I know it was wrong because you weren't on board with it but I couldn't sleep. It's Bens sister. We're doing something good. Like when you go to the orphanages and help those kids. It's temporary till Natalie gets out." I said. "And when she gets in trouble again? We're going to take care of her kid every time she fucks up?!" He hollered. "Yes. She'll always have a home with us. She will always have a family with us. She'll never be a foster kid or lost." I cried. He shook his head "What's done is done I guess." He sighed. I hugged him, "I love you. You should've seen how excited she was to have a warm bath and someone to do her hair. She was so happy to sleep in a warm bed." I told him. "Yeah yeah. Keep suckering me into this." He said. I kissed him. "Was Jayden good?" I asked.  "All He does is eat sleep and shit." Michael giggled. "But you ever disappear in the middle of the night with one of our kids. We will have serious issues." He said serious. I nodded completely understanding.  "How's your stomach?" He asked. "A lot better." I smiled.

We went up stairs and Paiton was fast asleep. I got into bed next her and she cuddled me. I was out like a light. She held tightly onto me the whole night but we slept like babies until Jayden woke up and I was up and down with him a couple times. I brought him into our room and laid him in his crib there and went back to sleep.

I woke up to giggling, I looked over and Michael had Paiton as they watched a video on his phone. "That's funny." She giggled as she cuddled up to him. "Jayden still asleep?" I yawned. "Yeah, he'll be up soon though. Paiton helped me feed him." He said. Paiton smiled widely. "I like it here." She said making me smile. "Good. Let's go get breakfast." I yawned. Michael got up, putting a shirt and Paiton crawled over to me. I picked Jayden up and Paiton quickly followed behind me.

Ashley had breakfast ready for us as all the kids sat at the table. Paiton stood by me shyly. "I have a seat right next to me for her mom." Ben said. "You want to go sit by your brother?" I asked her. She nodded walking over there. She sat next to Ben and was looking around the table scared. Michael and I sat down. "Guys this is Paiton. She's going to be living with us for a while. She's Bens sister from his biological mother. I expect everyone to treat her like family. Include her in your games and stuff. She's not use to our life style. She didn't live a luxurious life like we do. So help her out if she's doing something wrong. Be nice. We will treat her like we treat you guys. She will be going to school with you guys and everything. " I told them. "So she's like our sister?" Harmony asked. "Kind of But she will go live back with her mother when her mother gets back. But she will always have a home here." I said. "Okay." Aubrey said. I feed Jayden as we ate, I watched Paiton as she shoveled food into her mouth. "Slow down Paiton." I told her. "If your still hungry You can get more food." Ben told her. "More food?" She asked. "Yeah, i told you the food isn't going anywhere. You won't go hungry here." I told her. She nodded. She smiled then ate at a normal speed. "So is she getting a room here?" Aubrey asked. I looked over to Michael, "I think we're going to let her stay in my old room." I said. Michael nodded, "that way you have no where to sleep when you get mad at me." Michael giggled. I rolled my eye playfully. "Are you guys dating?" Paiton asked smiling. "We're married." I told her. Her eyes lit up, then she got kind of sad "my mommy isn't married." She said. "We've been married for 13 years." Michael said. "That's so cool." She squealed. The kids giggled.

After we ate the kids took Paiton to play. "Let's go outside mom!" Ben hollered excited. Of course I took them outside, putting Jayden in a stroller. Paiton couldn't really keep up with them but Ben was being such a good brother and would help her. "Bubby! This fun!" She squealed. Ben got such a huge smile on his face. She definitely wasn't use to being a kid it seemed like. Michael walked out and the kids tackled him besides Paiton. She seemed so sad. "What's wrong P?" I asked. She walked up to me and sat. "I wish I had a daddy. Mommy just has lots of boyfriends. My daddy not here." She said. " Mommy takes care of you though, right?" I asked. She nodded, "I miss my mommy. She always cuddle me and tries to feed me what she can." She said. "Well you will always have us. No matter what." I told her. She smiled, "I like being around my brother." "He likes having you here." I told her. She smiled bigger and ran to Ben hugging him. He jumped by, surprised but quickly embraced her too. He kept his arm around her and walked her to the play set. All the kids ran to the play set too and Michael was Pushing Paiton and Harmony on the swings , "higher daddy! Higher!" Harmony squealed. "Yeah Michael! Higher!" P shouted laughing. She was fitting in just fine.
