Chasing Rainbows // Zach Herron

Chapter 13

Bella's POV

"Are you ready?" I asked Zach as he was just hanging up the phone. "Uh, Yeah. It was our manager." He said seeming stressed out. I caressed his arm as we went into the auditorium at the elementary school and took our seats that were labeled "Herron".

I looked around and saw how flowers and rainbows were painted all over the banner hanging down from the stage. "Whats the name of this play, again?" I asked, forgetting it. "Uh, something about flowers. It's obviously a made up play" Zach said sounding grouchy. I hit his stomach signaling that he shouldn't say that out loud. "Sorry" he mumbled as he rubbed his eyes and slouched down.

I got a good glimpse of his face. Dark, blue bags laid under his eyes while his cheeks were more of a darker pink shade. I frowned. For last couple weeks he's been trying to focus on the band, his kids, and protecting everyone from Mike.

After that night at my house, zach had took me to the police station, we filed a restraining order against Mike and ever since then Zach doesn't let his kids or even me out of his sight. Within seconds of the lights dimming light snores escaped his mouth. I chuckled and shook him a little bit. He jumped up, making me jump. "Are you okay" was the first thing he said. I chuckled and nodded. "You don't want to miss Rosey" I said.

He was about to say something but was interrupted by the chorus of "hey guys" from the rest of the boys. They took the seats next to us and one Daniel behind us. "I'm excited to see my kids shine bright" jack said dramatically causing a glare from zach to escape his eyes.

Jack laughed and was shushed by many people around us. We were all watching the play intently. As I was sitting there, deep in thoughts, i felt a warm hand intertwine with mine. I looked up and saw Zach smirking while looking straight. I brought up our hands and kissed his softly. I then kissed his scarred knuckles softly and smiled.

"That was great!" Zach yelled while picking up Rosey. She giggled and squealed grabbing my hand. "Where's charles" She asked while looking around. "He's with Christina" I said. "She couldn't come, she's sorry about that" I said looking at Corbyn. Rosey nodded her head and hugged her dad once again.

"Alright, go thank everyone for coming and get your jacket, we gotta get going, you have school tomorrow." Zach said. She smiled and ran over to Jack. "You do realize you guys do live with three of them, right?" I asked as I watched her say bye to Daniel. "Yeah, i do. She just forgets sometimes." I laughed and gave zach a kiss on the lips. He smiled into he kiss, making me smile.

"I missed this" He whispered once we let go of each other. "Me too" I said smiling. "I'll see you tomorrow, Zach" I said kissing him a couple more times. "Bye Rosey" I said tickling her stomach. She giggled and waved. I started to walk past the boys saying bye. I left the school and started to walk to my car, hearing footsteps near me.

I quickly turned around and saw the blonde boy, Corbyn, running towards me. "Bella" he said out of breath. "Yes?" I asked. "I want to say that I'm sorry for the way I acted towards you. You didn't have anything to do with mike hurting Christina, I should've believed you. We looked at the tapes and reported him to the police, zach told us you got a restraining order against him. Is that true?" He asked as I nodded. "Yeah, tell Christina that I miss her." I said hopping into the truck. "Wait" He quickly said before I closed the door. "Yes?" "I'm so sorry, I never meant to be like that. I hope we can push this past us."

"Of corse" I said nodding.
