"if you want to see space—
look no further!
for here, look
I have the famed black holes
placed below my eyes
and the lack of oxygen
flailing helplessly in my lungs.
it is cold and black in my rib cage
but pinpricks of starlight
lie in the fixture of my bones.
there is weary old heaviness
in my every creaking step
the universe doesn't sleep
so neither do I.
let's play crescent moon
with the curve of my cheek
sometimes soft
and sometimes jagged.
I am space.
and like space
one day, soon
I will crumple up into nothing
and be flung away
like a forgotten piece of paper."
