Adam

"Just look at her beauty" I tell myself as I watch her sitting on the ground, watching the sand fall through her fingers.

Old jeans lifted up to her ankle, barefoot, her old white t-shirt and my old sweatshirt knotted on her shoulders...

The water brushing the tips of her feet in waves of sweet and bitter memories.

I stand few meters away from her and I satisfy my eyes from her sight.

A sight of love in the shape of a human.

Words can never explain the happiness of seeing my sweatshirt around her neck... I take a deep breath and I let the love, I have for her, eat me alive.

I allow love to devour me like those cruel years never happened... any life without my Isabel I don't want to live.

I stand and I wonder how I lived all those years without her... but now she is here and she is all mine... finally!

... and that's all that matters!

I walk towards her in complete silence; I sit behind her placing her right in the middle between my legs. Her back against my chest and I place my chin on her shoulder.

"I'm gonna need that sweatshirt back..." I say to her ear

"F – how did you get here?" she shouts scared but as soon as our eyes lock, she relaxes in a blink.

"Shhh, just let me enjoy this moment" I tell her and I slowly wrap my arms around her waist and pull her towards me, the closest possible, not even thin air is allowed between us anymore.

I hug her with a hunger of past years, I hug her for the future that awaits us, I hug her in the name of every heart that ever fell in love.

I hug her in the name of us. Our love, our past, our future, and our friendship.

I envelop her in my heart, where she belongs, and I close my arms around her.

"Adam..." she whispers my name; I don't want to answer because I want to hear my name from her lips again.

"Adam..." there she goes again and my heart stops.

"My heart..." I answer

"How did you find me?" She asks

"I followed my heart," I answer

"I drove home and ran to our yard, but it was empty... your dad came out with a wooden spoon to fight the intruder he thought I was... Baby we need to tell him he needs to upgrade his defense weapon. Anyhow, he told me you left... I was devastated, "Where did she go?" I asked him "I don't know son, she was very sad and the area was not helping her... every time she went out she'd come back and cry for hours, she would sleep between her mom and I at nights because she was afraid of being alone" he answered "Eric, think, what did she say before she left". "She wanted to find herself," your mom answered and I knew instantly that you would be here."

"How?"

"Because right in this place I found myself... I mean you must remember it too. That night when everyone else was asleep, you and I were dancing under the stars. We were dancing to the music of our hearts beating for like crazy, that night with one simple touch our bodies were surrendering to our biggest fear. That night we -"

"Ruined our lifelong friendship..." she interrupts me only to continue my thought.

"That night our love intoxicated me more than anything I could ever drink or abuse..."
