Chapter 17

Shiro POV

After discussing everything, we head up to our rooms for the night. It's a few ticks till midnight and I can't seem to fall asleep. I don't know what it is. Then I hear a knock at the door. Who could be up this late? I head to the door and it's Pidge with a pillow.

"Can I sleep with you? I'm having trouble sleeping tonight."

"Of course Katie" she dropped her pillow and hugged me. I lifted her up with one arm with her hands still behind my neck. I pick up her pillow and fix the bed a bit. I put her under the covers and walked around to the other side and crawl in as well.

Once I am in, Katie immediately curls up to me. I wrap my arms around her and pulled her closer to me. "Goodnight Katie" I said kissing her forehead. "Goodnight Takashi" Katie replied sleepily into my chest. I had slept better last night than I️ did in years. No nightmares or flashbacks to a time when I was a Galra slave. Just calm ones of Katie and I.

~~following morning ~~

Apparently I slept so well last night that we both slept through my alarm. I guess Katie hasn't been sleeping either. Well she does spend all day and night upgrading Midori and the castle. We woke up to everybody yelling that they couldn't find Pidge or myself. When they went into my room and saw us cuddling they awed and then immediately followed it up with yelling again and I got pushed away from Katie and onto the floor. When they moved her from the bed she woke up. How did she sleep through all that yelling?

"What's happening?" She said drowsy.

"We're getting you out of here, you're not sleeping with Shiro " Lance said.

"Why?"

"Because-"

" You and Keith do it all the time! We didn't do anything. I couldn't sleep so I asked Shiro  if I could sleep with him. Wait...where is Shiro?"

I raise my arm above the bed and grunted
"I'm over here. I got kicked out of bed"

Pidge wiggled  her way out of Lances grip and helped me up.

"Are you okay?" She asked

"I'm fine. Are you okay?"

"Yeah!"

"You sleep all right?"

"Best I've slept. What about you?"

"So did I️." I say patting her head

"Wow, you two are really mushy." Lance teased.

"Can you guys get out!" Pidge snarked.

"Fine"they all say disappointed for some reason.

Once they all leave Pidge crawls back into bed. "Let's just relax for a bit longer." she said patting the spot next to her. I crawl into bed and we cuddle once more. This time we're both awake just happy to be together.

~time skip~

" I hate to say this but we should stop for now and get dressed." I said.

"You're right. What do you think's on the menu?"

"Goop."

We both start laughing.

Pidge and I get out of the bed and I walk her out. She motioned for me to lean down, so I did, and she kissed my cheek before going off to her room. I hold the spot where she kissed me as my face became the color Keith's jacket.

I go back inside to get ready for the day. Once I'm done I head to the kitchen. I see Pidge and Hunk there setting down plates for breakfast. I carry over the remaining few and put them down. We all ate breakfast and started the day as usual. Except for when Pidge and I went into our own little world from time to time.
